I saw Tommy pop up on these boards earlier today, and will guess he didn't bother to answer here, which means they are STILL trying to fine tune the Fanball online draft site IMO.

Not only that ;) (A-Hole growing)...But they may have put into Greg's new Fanball contract that he no longer has to grovel in the message board and play babysitter/kindergarten cop...but could relegate that misery to Geoff! (Just guessing) :D

It would be nice to have an answer; the draft is 6 days away, or is it 5

[/QUOTE]Hah, I'll choose Lance's post to address here!! No, I'm not avoiding the message boards, but when you are working 12 hour days in St. Louis on all of this stuff you guys are taking for granted, then it's tough to stay on the message boards. I flew back from St. Louis yesterday and actually reintroduced myself to my family last night.

But you are correct, we didn't have an answer for this question yet and that's why Tom didn't respond. I am going to address our satellite season on a separate post, but will answer this one here:

Both drafts next week are currently scheduled to run on our new draft site, which is being tested and finalized by Fanball now. Geoff Stein was with me in St. Louis all this week and worked with the entire IT team to finalize this. It is a very nice, slick site with many features that MDC currently doesn't have. Yes, you will be able to import your own lists at any time. You will be able to sort by the default list or your own list at any time. The interface is very slick.

All of this will be right on your NFBC main page so that you won't have to relog in or remember another password. It's going to be right on your site. A free Mock area will also be there and hopefully will be available Monday or Tuesday for everyone to practice on.

All the features are there: Sort by position, alphabetically, etc., Search buttons, our eligibility lists for each player, Chat, 2009 stats by each player, etc. Geoff is leading the charge, so you know he's on top of everything you need. We have a few more tweaks to add down the road, but we're very, very close.

It was a busy week of meetings on this and we have more announcements about this later. But the plan is to have both satellite leagues on our own draft software and we'll get everyone up to speed shortly. Geoff can address how to import your own lists shortly. He knows more about this than I do.

But that's the plan. Sorry for the short notice, but I had to see this first-hand before deciding. Look for more details and access to this site first thing next week.

It will include free mock access so that everyone can practice on the site well before their satellite league seasons and NFBC Online Double Play drafts. Stay tuned for more details.

The addition of the Hot Tub league forced our hand a little bit to finish this site. But once we also filled the Feb. 17th league we wanted to run both on our own site. So thanks for filling this league Dan, but we really weren't sure about our plans until yesterday when we finalized a lot of things in St. Louis.

Thanks all for your patience and get ready for a great online drafting season.

Greg,

A HUGE improvement to MDC would be to be able to set AUTO for ONE pick and then have it automatically go off. Can't stress this enough, this one feature will be a HUGE hit with the slow draft crowd. Too many people don't want to go on auto for fear that a "run" happens and they get stuck with 3 or 4 "AUTO" picks.

Yeah, any suggestions you have for that site are welcome and I'm sure Geoff will keep track of all of them and send them to John and his team in St. Louis. Again, I'll create a special thread for this announcement and that's where all suggestions are welcome. I'm extremely excited about this project and you'll learn all of our plans for that shortly. The site is nice, but we have a little more fine-tuning to do.

Who is going to do the voice for, "NOW, IT'S YOUR TURN?"

:D

I agree with Mark, that would be a nice addition.

For slow drafts, it would be nice to have a button to tell others in the draft that you're really "here". Keep the "here' and "away" as automatic, but add another key that states "ready to draft" for us, to let others know that we're within voice distance.

Geoff can address this, but I think we have a sound effect but no NOW IT'S YOUR TURN to scare the entire family!! :D The sound effect will alert you that it's your turn.

I think the Slow Draft suggestions will be helpful and something we can add during the offseason and implement for football. We certainly see the lure and possibilities with the Slow Draft leagues and next year maybe we can create an offseason overall championship based on these formats. We'll see. But I certainly see the appeal of this and if we can make the Slow Drafts even better for the participants the potential of this format is enormous. So we will fine-tune this area of the draft site, but it won't be the first priority just yet. We need the actual draft process to be PERFECT.

Greg,

First. Thanks for the update!

Second. Nobody is taking anything for granted.

Being away from family and working 12 hour days is tough. Except there are a whole bunch of men and women out there who would trade places with you. They are fighting two wars. Some on second or third tours. So the next time just say I didn't have time.

Thank You. ;)

I think GG's idea on being able to limit how far you go on auto is spot on.

We haven't really worked on the software as far as slow drafts go, yet, but I will be sure to present this to the Fanball tech team.
