NFBC Online Championship Times And Dates
Posted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 2:19 am
I noticed last night that we made a bit of a mistake in our design of the NFBC Double Play and we're making that correction today. If you click on the Double Play box, it gives you the payouts, rules and pictures of each city with times where the Live Double Plays are being held. However, we did not create a box with the times for the Online Double Play. We are doing that now.
I'm confident that the Online Double Play will reach our goals, but first we need to:
1. Do a better job of posting the available times and dates. I'll list them here and you'll see them on the web site within the Double Play link today. Right now I commend the folks who have already signed up for the Online Double Play because they actually had to go into the Registration link to find those times and dates. Kudos to you for doing the extra work.
2. We need to do a better job of promoting the $75,000 cash bonus for anyone who wins both the Double Play overall title and the Main Event title. The odds are higher this year, but Lindy Hinkelman proved last year that this can be done. Not only has Lindy received his $75,000 cash bonus but the same company that insured us last year is back to insure us again this year. So let the Double Fun begin as the cash bonus for winning both overall titles is back in place and Lindy expects to do it again...or at least someone does!!
If you're already in the main event, please consider doing a Double Play event either online or live because the incentive is worth it.
3. We need to do a better job of letting folks that last year's NFBC Online Championship is still alive and well, it's just renamed to Online Double Play. Those who draft live actually have two chances to win -- thus the name change to Double Play -- whereas those who draft online still have the single shot at the grand prize. The grand prize has been increased from $40,000 last year to $60,000 and there are more participants this year, but the same 12-team format, same league prizes ($1300 for first, $650 for second), same overall standings structure, is still in place. We had 600 teams in the online version last year and we should easily top that this year, with a goal of 720 teams online.
I apologize for my oversight on the Double Play link and we'll get that fixed today. That was my fault. But here are the dates for the NFBC Online Double Play drafts and if you need any help signing up for any of these let me know. We currently have a three-pack special for $1050 and you get an autographed Matt Kemp baseball from Upper Deck Authenticated worth $99. Sign up while supplies last.
