I like perusing through ADP just like the next guy but did not realize how rabid some can get for it. Up the voltage on your treatments folks. Just wait until it comes time to determine draft positions... heaven forbid they should be 15 mins late on that one!

[/QUOTE]Longoria moving up to the Top 10 and Cabrera going towards the end of the first round are the biggest eye-catchers for me here. Interesting.

I think I have already figured out the answer to this, but just for clarification …

Randy Johnson SP SF 504.15 542 -ND- 7.7%

Randy Johnson's line indicates that he was drafted in 7.7% of the leagues (i.e., 1 of the 13 leagues). He was drafted at 542. However, his ADP is listed as 504.15, which isn't quite true! If you take the 12 leagues that he wasn't drafted in and assign a draft position of 501 for each of those, the average would come out to be the listed 504.15. Is that how it is calculated for all of the "not drafted in a league" numbers? That's okay … but important to know because it REALLY skews the numbers of the folks on the borderline of being drafted or not!

Thanks!

another way at looking at the ADP's is to download to an excel file. sort the ADP's from smallest to largest using the "latest" column as the base. this ranks the players in a worst case scenerio.

if a player slides to you at his "new" ADP, and of course he fits your needs, you "could" have a bargain.

this will also take into consideration a player dropping in the later drafts or even retiring,,ala,,randy johnson

but it will not show a player moving up the boards, thats where having the "earliest" column next to him is necessary.

Hey guys,

Please pass along any duplicates you find -- along with their position on the spreadsheet, so we can take care of that for the future.

Thanks much.

In my opinion, Ryan Howard and Evan Longoria are not 1st rounders... especially Howard. Drafting Howard over Miggy seems assenine to me. Howard is elite in HR and RBI but he's a negative in SB and AVG.. meanwhile the only thing Miggy doesn't give you is steals and AVG is more important to me, because that's something you can't make up or easily find later in the draft...
