Top minor leaguer Jason Heyward was hitting THIRD in the Braves lineup today. Ya, the Mets were pitching scrubbs, but Heyward went 1-1 with TWO walks (got to love the patience). Many people compare here to old school Strawberry. I think he'll be BETTER.
Anyways, HITTING THIRD is something no one expected. Adjust your OF rankings accordingly. Where he is currenty going NOW will look like a goldmine compared to where he will be going March 20 and March 27th. Enjoy!

Yeah, because I'm sure Heyward has displaced Chipper as the #3 hitter.

don't use chipper and displaced in the same sentence.

Heyward will not be batting 3rd this season. I appreciate your attempt to inflate his value, but come on now!!
7 or 8 will indeed be his spot.

Mclouth
Prado
Chipper
McCann
Glaus
Heyward
Escobar
Melky
is how I would probably do it. You could obviously put Escobar above Heyward, but under the above scenario Heyward sees a few more heaters.

I'll reserve judgment here also; I have Heyward in a number of drafts all around 16-19; I will be happy if he hits 3rd; hell, I'll be happy with him being a starter; even if he hits lower than 3rd he'll be in a nice place in the lineup before June 1

He's an outfielder, part yogi and part recluse.

No comment, but if I theoretically had him, it was round 16.

If Schafer wasn't slow coming back from his wrist surgery I would all but guarantee Heyward would start at Gwinnett. As it is Diaz/Hinske/Infante could platoon to begin the season.
Barring injury, Heyward will be up for at least half the season, but all 6'5", 245 lbs of him could start at AAA.

Chipper Jones thinks top prospect Jason Heyward will open the season with the Braves.
"I would be shocked if he didn't go north with us," said Jones.

IF he begins the season with the braves, a
.290+
20hr+
15sb+
season is within reach.
those numbers put him in the 5th round. think choo choo bird, but better!

More like th 10th round unless he is batting near the top of the lineup, which is unlikely.

Gek, you think Bobby bats a rookie ahead of Escobar who had the best BA with RISP last yr?

I've been informed that Jason Heyward went in the 13th round in a recent draft, much like GG has predicted.

Guy had heel, hip flexor, hammy issues last season. Could only stay on the field for 99 games. He'll be nothing but a big tease this year - no way he stands up to the rigors of a full major league season. You've been warned ! lol
