Lou Piniella said, "We have to have him healthy. This should be a good spot for him".
This is what Lou really wanted to say-
'We have to have him. Period.... He's signed to an outrageously long contract and nobody will take him off our hands. I can't get away with batting him much lower since it would be a slap in the face to both him and my General Manager.'
'His swinging from the heels pleases me almost as much as his shoddy outfield play. I will be out of Chicago long before Soriano is, and that is when I will smile again.
'Royals toying with the idea of Hitting Jason Kendall in the 2-Hole'
Rename the 2-Hole, the Black Hole.

The answer is, Cal Ripken and Lou Gehrig set records for never missing a game. This pair of players deserve recognition for missing the most games without the use of the disabled list.
