Would anyone be kind of enough to post one of last year's Main Event Leagues team by team catgeory results? I am interested in seeing the cumulative impact of going from smaller leagues (and players) to the NFBC's structure of 15 teams, 5X5, 14 Batters, and 9 pitchers.

cheers

Greg, Would it be possible for you to put together an Excel spreadsheet showing the league winners from last year and their stats for the 10 categories? It would seem rather easy to and would be nice to see all that information on one page. Thanks, I appreciate it.

Greg,

Sorry to bother you again. If its not a problem is there any chance you could provide a better Pitching Sample. Looks like 2 guys either sold out on Saves or royally screwed up their draft, thus affecting the quality of the all the pitching stats. (I hope those guys are in my league this year.)

cheers.

Someone evidently tried to dominate the pitching stats and tried to fill in with hitting later thinking it easier to find hitters later. Just the opposite of what the overall winner did in the same league where he concentrated on hitting and filled in with pitching. It worked very much to the advantage of the overall winner being in a league with someone trying the opposite strategy, it made better hitters available to him because one or two teams were taking pitchers instead of hitters and it put all the good pitchers on one or two teams making it easier for the smart owner to pick the cherries from the bottom tier pitchers that were left.

Todd Zola has done this already with the league champions and I have this around here. It's very interesting. I'll let Todd introduce it since he did all the hard work.

While waiting for Todd, might I suggest you look at CREATiVESPORTS.COM. Go to their baseball articles area and then check out the Tuesday "NFBC ZONE" articles - likely in archives. Specifically, I wrote the one dated November 30 and titled "What It takes To Win".

Four of us at CS who competed last season (all are returning by the way) are writing weekly articles available every Tuesday in the FREE newsletter (signup today) and also available the way I suggested above. For first time players, they can be very helpful especially the ones on draft day room logistics.

Well gang, that's what I have. This used the 13 main event teams from last year's NFBC. I'll talk with Greg to see if there is a better way to present it.

It's pretty easy to copy and paste into excel using "Text to Columns" and choosing space as the delimiter.

Great stuff, Todd. We can attach this data in an Excel document to our next NFBC newsletter, too, so that all NFBC members get this e-mailed to them. It certainly gives you some numbers to crunch and some goals to reach if you plan on winning your league title. Thanks again Todd. As you know, I'm Excel illiterate! :D
