Just some thoughts as the tequila/OJ buzz is settling in tonight. :D

Next week is gonna be a bear to listen to all the Vegas chatter as I'm here at home. The plus side is it's 81 degrees inside the house right now and I'm slightly sunburnt from working outdoors the last two days.

Funny how when you take shots on old timers or the injury prone and fail...you're an idiot. When you take shots on old timers and the injury prone and hit...you're lucky.

Could a moneybag player or syndicate of players strategicaly purchase suicide drafters in the leagues that contain their biggest threats to the overall, and have them draft the elite SP/RP the first 12 rounds, thus crippling all other's in that league's chances to hit their targets to place high in the overall due to their target ratio's for saves and K's and ERA/WHIP being from a smaller pool?

Taking all the top stolen base guys for the first 10 rounds would do the trick easily IMO, thus knocking every single player in that league OUT of the overall.

Just a couple weird thoughts that crossed my mind today.

Edited to add: Wait..."zero sum game" would kick in, and that league would be stronger in the other categories than the other ADP sheep filled leagues!

Edited once again to add...

If you had access ahead of time to similar weekly free agent bidding final results that were comparable to those of the NFBC...would that be cheating? I'm talking an entire league of teams bidding results that were processed before you had to submit your bids, so you could see ranges and average bids.

Just checking.

:D

Lance, Do you ever re-read your posts the next morning and laugh at yourself saying, " What the **** was I thinking?!"

Btw, I am laughing at myself right now. After driving umpteen hours, I am checking the Boards and 'last minute preparing' at four in the morning for the draft.

It's no wonder the kids call me a dork.

It's no wonder the kids call me a dork. I was thinking the same thing. But then again, I'm about to drive 5 hours one way and spend my entire day focused on a make-believe baseball draft myself. See you in a few hours, Dan.

If both of you guys (actually everyone) haven't watched the "Fantasyland" movie (there is a thread here with the link), you will realize you are "normal".

Jed is NO WHERE CLOSE to normal. I think we all love fantasy sports, but he has some SERIOUS issues.

And by the way Lance, I bet you can prove that Ryan Houston killed Kennedy if you dig deep enough! LOL!

Good luck today everyone! :D

How many times over the last few months do you think either Tom or Greg have turned to Ryan and said "Houston, we have a problem" ?

Okay, I'm getting punchy. Is it draft time yet? :D

Go with your guts and get value today while you can, gents!!! Here is a good example. We discovered the news about Kerry Wood being out 6 weeks after 20 rounds of the main were in the book yesterday. A team near us had taken him, and then were scrambling with 3 of their next 5-6 picks to find another possible closer. I kind of felt bad for them.

[/QUOTE]Or the reverse: an owner found out about Chris Perez, and took him in the late-teens before others got wind of the news during the Round 20/21 break.

The joys of Weekend One!

Found out the Kerry Wood news in the 18th round in Atlantic City. I had already rostered Broxton and Ryan Franklin. ( I deserve what I get )

I was selecting #10 and decided that as long as I grabbed Chris Perez prior to the Round 20 break, I'd be fine.

So I passed Perez only to have Steve Jupinka beat me to the punch. I looked over at him and said "Guess you got the news as well?" A small grin appeared for the NFBC's highest ranked player ( CHILDS WHO? ) as he nodded in agreement.

Damn, there is a picture here for this, but it seems to be escaping me. nice job Steve!
