I am 4 rounds into a SAT draft and it is obvious a lot of people are having trouble with the Fanball draft screen. Do one Mock draft before you draft. We have had the draft stopped at least 5-6 times because people were having trouble.

Agreed. Last night we had a miserable 6 HR 30 Round satellite draft. We must of stopped 20 times to have Geoff replace a player for a team owner. I'm not exaggerating when I say 20 players were swapped and we had to pause.
At this point I prefer MDC even though Fanball has some nice features. Fanball must at a minumim make the following changes:
*Move the clock
*Get rid of the 3 for $20 magazine which takes up valuable space.
*Create a larger player queue. It's so small that its almost worthless to navigate. I feel this is a culprit as to why these drafts are sooooooo slow. I felt like I had to grab my players off the the master lists rather than the queue last night
* Show at least the full 15 teams at the top.
KJ Duke had a more extensive list but these were the major culprits of a 6 Hour 30 Round online draft. I'm just happy this was my final online draft this year. I trust that Fanball will implement the changes for next year.
PS Geoff Stein deserves a raise. He stayed attentive thru the whole draft last night and constantly had to deal with player changes, etc.

I'm fine with the software, obviously any changes will be for next year. An yes, Geoff does deserve a raise. It was hard to believe that two people had to enter their picks through Geoff over the phone. Did he constantly have to tell them who was still on the board? Every pick? What a pain.....
Thanks for getting it done Geoff. I'm better for the experience.

I was in a double play online draft last night, and it wasn't much better. Almost a one hour delay due to software problems at the beginning, and numerous stoppages because one player was having problems with the auto draft feature and needed his picks (and the picks of the players selecting after him) backed out repeatedly. Lessons from the night:
1. Make sure to name your team, so the software doesn't choke on it.
2. Do at least one mock draft, so you understand how the software works.
3. The software is ok now, but there are clearly some improvements needed.
4. Keep Geoff's phone # handy in case you have technology issues - my computer crashed and I managed to call him quickly enough and tell him my next pick so that I don't think he even had to stop the draft.

For everyone that already did a draft - were you not able to get into the draft room until like 10 minutes before draft, unless you did a mock draft? My draft is tonight and when I try and go in, I get an error. Thanks

I'm in the same league as Fast Money and Red Sox Nation, and I think most of the problem stems from people just not being prepared. It was very, very apparent that several people had not done any mocks on the site beforehand. That's just plain moronic.
I'm sure people are in a different financial situation than I am, but geez, why spend $500 if you don't know the rules and the settings? Just like burning money. Looking at my projected standings, the guy who had the most problems in our draft clearly stands out as the last place team.

Our 30 round satellite lasted 4 hrs 45 mins last night. They waited about 10 mins for someone to get there and then the same drafter kept letting the clock run out and stopped the draft 6 or 7 times to have his pick changed. I think this problem would be solved if the clock was visible at the bottom of the page. And the clock should be enforced.

What is Geoff's phone number? I have been crashing a lot in the mock's and will probably need it. BTW, that clock needs to be moved to where the magazine ad is.....

I'd rather not post it on the board for the fear of being harassed relentlessly by super models, but if you e-mail me, I'd be more than happy to give it to you.

Have to agree. Last night, we waited 10 minutes for someone to join the draft, then had another person who had the draft frozen 4 times. I realize that things are different from drafting in person and online, but just put the players in the queue, so you don't scramble the last 10 seconds for a player you want and get the draft frozen. Have some respect for your leaguemates

To everyone who keeps complaining about the clock being in the wrong spot - there is a simple solution to solve this problem. Just change your monitor to a higher resolution. If you are already at the highest resolution, then decreasing the font size might also work (not sure, I didn't have to do this).

Having clock next to chat box and quee would make it easy to see who was last drafted, who your looking at and time left to pick all in one nice little area. Not sure why it would be so hard to swap the ad and clock.
