Yes. Glaus was on an active major league roster all last season, even though much of it was on the DL. He played in 58 games, 39 as DH and 19 as a third baseman. He was a DH, or utility player, last year. His injury prevented him from playing the mandatory 20 games at third base. So he must be placed at Utility on Draft Day, but after he plays 10 games in 2005 at third base he can be moved to third base.
Minor-leaguers who didn't play at all in the majors last year get a position qualification by the position they played the most in the minors last year. For any September callups, it's the position they played the most games at after their callup, since obviously most of them didn't even play 20 games in the majors.
It's not complicated at all. Don't blame me, Okrent or Waggoner, blame Glaus' injury on the fact he couldn't play one more game at third base.
