Hi Greg,

do I understand the rules right, Glaus in NL auction league can only be drafted at utility because he played 19 games instead of 20, but a minor leaguer who did not play any major league games can be drafted to the active roster where ever they appeared the most? Talk to Okrent and Waggoner - OW

Yes. Glaus was on an active major league roster all last season, even though much of it was on the DL. He played in 58 games, 39 as DH and 19 as a third baseman. He was a DH, or utility player, last year. His injury prevented him from playing the mandatory 20 games at third base. So he must be placed at Utility on Draft Day, but after he plays 10 games in 2005 at third base he can be moved to third base.

Minor-leaguers who didn't play at all in the majors last year get a position qualification by the position they played the most in the minors last year. For any September callups, it's the position they played the most games at after their callup, since obviously most of them didn't even play 20 games in the majors.

It's not complicated at all. Don't blame me, Okrent or Waggoner, blame Glaus' injury on the fact he couldn't play one more game at third base.

He's counting those little league titles and $5,000 rewards as championships! That's why Potter was all over him! :D

[/QUOTE]Hey now, they were league championships... never even occurred to me that someone might conclude I won the overall. I'll edit it, sorry for the misleading advertising.
