MLB Network To Air Daily Fantasy Show

Post by Tom Kessenich » Tue Apr 06, 2010 6:16 am

Those of you who drafted in the Sunday New York Live Double Play league may remember meeting Nicole who was part of Team 12 with Michael Pomponio. Oh, who are we kidding - anyone who watched the draft knows Nicole was the brains behind that team, right Mike?

Anyway, Nicole works at the MLB Network and after the draft we were talking about their programming and I told her the network really needs to have a fantasy show of some kind given its 24-hour status for baseball. She said she'd talk to the folks at the network when she got back and today she emailed me to tell me that a show devoted to fantasy will be airing on the network.

It will be called "Fantasy 411" and it will air Monday-Friday at 5 pm. The show will begin as an hour-long show before transitioning into a 30-minute format. According to Nicole, the show will highlight the previous day's top performances and focus on player trends as well as a segment devoted to pitchers. MLB.com reporter Mike Siano will be the primary host of the show.

The first show will air today.

Thanks to Nicole for providing the info. This should be a very cool show and it's obviously great for the fantasy industry to get this type of show on a major network. The MLB Network does a great job and I enjoy watching their programming.

Oh, and those of you in that New York Live Double Play league better not take Nicole for granted. She told me she might be taking her own team next year and given her baseball knowledge she could be tough to beat if she does.

Yes, this is actually somewhat 'old' news not to rain on the parade but a little insight, Corey Scwartz who partiipates in the NFBC is also one of the co-hosts of that program!

everyone remembers nicole from that draft. She made all the picks and took 1/2 the time Mike did during the main event..lol.

Nice to see a fantasy show on MLB. Look forward to it.

Congratulations to Mike and Cory. The show is really well done and looks great. Nobody is more fun and informative to watch then Cory. I hope the show does well and works out for both of them.

I must say though I sure miss the low budget, wires and phones all over the table and shuffling papers around to find stats show. Back when the split screen was the big news exciting improvement. That show seemed so underground. Now it's all getting so "big business" and glitzy.
