Standings Issue Being Worked On

OK - I have remained silent on all of the issues over the past few days. But now I'm jumping into the debate here.... Scoring and standings are wrong. Take a look at the batting average category for my league- Slow Draft # 7:
Batting Standings Rank Team BA Pts
1 Arlington Rangers 0.3867 13.0
2 jilardi 0.3269 7.0
3 Luny Slow Draft 7 0.3239 13.0
4 Incredible Hulking Us # 7 0.3043 10.0
5 Team Bevacqua 0.3014 13.0
6 EA Sports 7 0.2973 15.0
7 Team Welsh 0.2958 6.0
8 A Ram x2 0.2911 4.0
9 Toxic Assets 2 0.2879 11.0
10 BrianDamage 0.28 8.0
11 Team Jurney 0.2281 9.0
12 Srebro SD7 0.2258 2.0
13 Team Just 0.2222 3.0
14 Walla Walla 0.2188 5.0
15 Team Cincotta 0.1579 1.0
The rankings - # 1 through # 15 - are correct. But the POINTS being given are wrong. Every category is like this, and the overall standings are incorrect as a result of this. It is unbelievable that this area would be wrong, 3 days after the start of the season. The "Arlington Rangers" have the highest average of all teams....how can they only be getting 13 points and not 15? All of the other categories are wrong also. Better put the Fanball computer dudes in for some overtime....because things are WAY WRONG!

Good morning all. If it's wrong in one league then it's being posted wrong in all leagues. I don't know what to say other than we'll have IT look at this again and rerun standings for all leagues and overall. Take your shots if you want, but bottom line is that we are now aware of the issues and need to rerun standings.
No need to post every league that's wrong. We obviously have it wrong altogether. Obviously all stats are stored and this will get displayed correctly and run correctly.

Oh my God, the stats are wrong this morning! What a catastrophe. How are some owners going to be able to function today? It may be whole hour or two before they are corrected. Imagine on April 7th the standings are incorrect and say you are in last place instead of first place. Some owners won't be able to eat, get their work done until this is corrected.

The bottomline is alot of people paid some pretty good coin to play here and right now they are not getting their moneys worth...not even close.
I hope **** gets worked out but now every damn day and week I am going to be wondering if **** is right....totally takes the fun out of the game and quite frankly makes me think i might of wasted my money ...could of played elsewhere where **** was ran right.
Greg and the guys are nice peeps and been very helpful...but that dont take away from the fact that **** is fucked up and thats not what i paid for.....and i think ALOT of people feel the same way

Be as sarcastic as you like, unless people mention these issues, they won't be corrected. Your sarcasm doesn't help the issue any, actually in many ways your sarcasm is worse than people griping over the constant issues that are presented daily.

I've paid ALOT of coin to play with Greg and Tom since the inception of the NFBC. I can also say there are not two more honorable and hard working guys. Do I care that the stats/standings are messed up on April 7th? Heck no because when they are fixed in the next few hours they will be perfect for the 98 percent of the season that is left. Id rather the standings be in question on April seventh then on October 1st.

A lousy IT team is responsible for these screw-ups. If the screw-ups continue, many people will be doubting the standings on October 1st based on how much they have screwed up already.

Bobby, im not missing the point. The point also is, that if its programming, once its fixed the standings will be right on April 7th, June the 7th and on September 30th.

Once it's fixed...if it's fixed...will be fixed...there are no other problems...will send to IT...
There does become a point when you have to say enough is enough. I dont need to see my standings today i know this but it's like buying a new car and the radio dosent work. You know the car still drives and it will be fixed but when you do send it back and the radio gets fixed the A/C dosent work. It's never ending!! and when people pay 2K-10K on leagues, this is not acceptable.

I can tell you the issue here. I work in IT and overlook a large team of developers. The issue lies with Fanball and the fact they are relying on programmers too heavily. And usually programmers don't have the mindset to UNDERSTAND the actual business side of the product they are programming.
They need someone that can bridge the gap between business requirements and development and ensure the developer understands what is needed.
I can see all through this site that they let a programmer dictate look and feel and everything else. Believe me, I know this first hand.
Geoff, you need to look into your team dynamics in your IT area and not rely on programmers to be making decisions when it comes to end user product. (If this is not the case, then your analysts are not very good)
Too many things are going wrong and if you are a large company you need to spend some buck to have a solid leader on your IT team that can LEAD to success. This type of consistent miscues are going to ruin your reputation.
Things can look pretty and thats what some developers want, but my mindset on my team is get the DATA RIGHT then we can work on the reporting aspect and look and feel later. I think Fanball worked in the reverse order
Just my 2 cents

My question is,,,who made the decision to use this software without properly testing it first...how does that happen with what I consider the epitome fantasy baseball event??? How, seriously??? I am not concerned to much about the standingz not being right either, but the sum of all of this does lead to frustration...if "Frat boy" would have been more concerned about delivering a good product to his customers instead of telling us we should be more concerned about getting the "Golden ticket" to the NFBC VIP party in Vegas, we might not be in dis situation...

Look everyone chill out! Greg and Tom are hard working dedicated people and will have this fixed soon! You must be the kind of people who buy an American car and expect it to start up every time you turn the key. Or buy a computer and expect the hard drive to last more than a week! Picky, Picky!
Now move along! Nothing to see here!
How's that? Send check to my home address!

If you guys think you are frustrated right now then you should switch shoes with me for a second.

Now, that being said we can bitch at each other all day about how this got f'ed up one day after we just ran the Monday standings correctly, but bottom line is that we need to get this s**t corrected and corrected right the hell NOW.
I'm not going to sit on this thread and bitch back because I'm pretty pissed off now. But we're going to get this right as Jeff said and get this right from here on out. This is insane.
Bitch all you want here and we deserve it. Dohn, you've been with Fanball a long time, so go ahead and bitch at them if you want. You know them better than I do. But I don't have time for this. I NEED to get IT to get this straight once and for all.
I'll update the sticky thread, but I have work to do now with a phone call.

I think the issue here is simply incompetence. This is not an interface issue, it's a matter of being too lazy to properly test anything or getting simple calculations (like the whip, standings) wrong.

While I am as frustrated as a lot of you at data reliability, I still have confidence that resolution will get done quickly. Here's what I've noticed:
Looks like the live scoring feature is adding again yesterday's stats, which are not reset to zero for today. So the stats for yesterday are being double-counted.
Also, the team stats feature shows incomplete or incorrect information for players. For example, Stewart credited with 1 HR only, Reynolds with zero HR...
Lastly, I completely agree with suggestions that call for rankings on live scoring be displayed based on points not rank: 15 being best and 1 worst. Makes more sense when the total is derived from adding those points.
Thanks

I just ran my league's point totals by hand (yes, I'm that kind of Excel geek).
While some category total points are wrong (i.e. someone with an ERA of 10 is shown with 13 points) the overall point total of each team is correct with the exception of one half of a point somewhere. (i.e. the first place team shown on my league standings page is actually the first place team - and actually does have the same point total shown).
I'm not sure where the programming problem lies, and I would not trust the category point totals, but if your league is like mine, the overall point total is either correct or off by a half point.
