Increased League and Overall Prizes
Just curious, was it ever announced what the new increased league prizes were going to be?

I was wondering about the top prizes for the events that didn’t sell out like the Auction Championship and the Live Double Play. Are the top prizes guaranteed, or were they based on a total sellout?

Yes, those are guaranteed. Everything stays the same for the Auction Championship and the Live Double Play, even though we fell one league short of our goals in each league. The payout percentage just went up there. Same with the Online Double Play, which fell 15 leagues short of our goal. Prizes are guaranteed.

Glenn I have not sat down with Ryan on this yet, but we have the additional money now to address the league situations for 29 leagues this way:
1st: $5,200 (up $200)
2nd: $2,600 (up $100)
3rd: $1,300
That keeps us at 4x, 2x, 1x like we've been in previous years along with paying out two additional leagues in the main event. The additional leagues make that possible and a little more.

Greg-Based on the information you have provided in this post you are paying out $300 extra for the originally intended 27 leagues as well as 9100 for the additional 2 leagues. This adds up to $26300. You have received $39000 (not considering "event fees") from the two additional leagues. You have stated that 75% of the entry fees are paid out to the winners. 39000 x 75% = 29250. Where is the difference? You did not make reference to any additional payments to the overall winners. I find it hard to believe that on top of "event fees" and the events of the last few days that Fanball would take extra profits from these 2 additional leagues. Please explain.
Thank you

Thank you Sir, did you not read this: The additional leagues make that possible and a little more.
Yes, I need to decide where to spend the less than $3,000 in overall prizes. I haven't figured that out yet. That's what I said above. Right now I'm just trying to get overall standings up, so forgive me for not being more specific immediately.

Was this new increased league prize structure ever approved by Ryan?
Also, has it been decided how the extra $3K in overall prizes is going to be broken out.
Hope all is well,
Glenn

Glenn [/QUOTE]Yes, the league prizes have increased thanks to the two additional main event leagues. That allowed an additional $11,000 into the prize pool. $300 additional prize money per league x 29 leagues equals = $8,700.
So the main event league prizes for 2010 are now:
League Prizes
1. League Champion = $5,200
2. 2nd place finisher = $2,600
3. 3rd place finisher = $1,300
That leaves us with around $2,500 in prize money. Here's our current prize structure:
Overall Prizes
1. First Place = $100,000 PLUS a crystal NFBC trophy
2. Second Place = $20,000
3. Third Place = $12,500
4. Fourth Place = $6,000
5. Fifth Place = $3,000
6. Sixth Place = $1,500
7. Seventh Place = $1,300
8. Eighth Place = $1,300
9. Ninth Place = $1,300
10. Tenth Place = $1,300
I think fourth, fifth and sixth could use a bump, or we could add an 11th place overall since we added more teams. Thoughts?

4. Fourth Place = $6,000 > $7,500
5. Fifth Place = $3,000 > $4,000
For future incremental growth, I'd suggest increased payouts for 2nd-5th. Keep 6th-10th at the free entry level until there's a move above $100k for first place. Forget about paying beyond the top ten.

I was going to suggest the exact same increases as KJ did.
Those increases bring 4th & 5th more in line with the 2nd & 3rd place jumps, with first obviously getting the lion's share. 6th through 10th should be less and about even with each other and the increases should be incremental from there....so, I'd keep 6-10 as is. I don't think it's necessary to include 11th place (even though I'm currently eleventh... ), paying the top ten just has a nice ring to it.

With the All-Star break around the corner, it's probably time that the new prize structure get finalized to prevent any headaches down the line.
When we left off about a month ago, this is what was last suggested for the league and overall prizes. Is this confirmed as a go?
League Prizes
1. League Champion = $5,200
2. 2nd place finisher = $2,600
3. 3rd place finisher = $1,300
Overall Prizes
1. First Place = $100,000 PLUS a crystal NFBC trophy
2. Second Place = $20,000
3. Third Place = $12,500
4. Fourth Place = $7,500 ($1,500 increase)
5. Fifth Place = $4,000 ($1,000 increase)
6. Sixth Place = $1,500
7. Seventh Place = $1,300
8. Eighth Place = $1,300
9. Ninth Place = $1,300
10. Tenth Place = $1,300
