3/24 Live Online DP League FA Error

Post by Heels » Sun Apr 11, 2010 3:09 pm

FYI, Neftali Feliz was available for bid in this league and I bid on him (copied my bids if you want me to send to you). He was not awarded to me or any other team for FAAB and upon further review he was already drafted originally and doesnt appear to have been released. This kind thing cannot happen and messes with the integrity of the FAAB process. My other bids and bid amounts were obviously affected by the fact I was bidding on Feliz. Can you tell me why he was in the pool in the first place and why the system was able to catch that I couldnt pick him up but allowed me to bid on him??????

I've refrained from posting negative stuff all week despite being obviously frustrated to give Greg/Tom/Geoff a chance to fix things, but this is getting ridiculous. Am I now expected to check the draft results for guys I thought should have been drafted? Guess its worse when it directly affects you.

This is our fault.

The Feliz owner accidentally dropped him during the FAAB process last week. We were alerted to this on Monday and have all the e-mail logs to prove so. At that time, we put Feliz back on his roster and dropped Michael Wuertz.

If you go back and look at his roster for the April 5 time period, you will notice that Feliz was in his starting lineup.

For some reason, however, the move we made earlier in the week didn't carry over to the 4/9 timeframe and Feliz was sent to the waiver wire. We were alerted to that fact this afternoon and once again put Feliz on the correct roster.

I apologize for the confusion, and will get together with Greg, Tom and the tech guys in the future to come up with a better way to alert the other league members of the errors when something like this pops up.

Thanks.

Thanks. Thanks for acknowledging and admitting fault, Geoff. I'm glad it is not part of a larger FAAB problem, but it still was an issue and should not happen. I trust you guys will come up with a way to inform owners of such changes. The fun of fantasy baseball has been severely hampered by this week. I've kept quiet b/c I trust you guys, but I am quickly losing patience.

And this is another reason why the default drop should show no player. Make us have to choose a drop and confirm a drop.....yahoo can do it. Should be easy.

Until this is fixed, every week you'll be getting emails from someone who dropped an auto default by accident.
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.

Not asleep at the wheel, but keep the shots coming. We deserve them whenever there is any confusion.

I'm not even sure this was human error as Geoff stated. This roster move was changed and changed and changed by Geoff and the owner several times this week after that initial FAAB rerun. This was the most frustrating transaction I've ever seen. In fact, it involved the Lind owner and the Feliz owner. Both were corrected after the FAAB rerun and somehow these wouldn't take. The Feliz owner was trying to be as patient as could be and we made the move again on Saturday and yet on Sunday he emailed us again.

I honestly don't know how this happened or why it happened but we are looking into it. We thought we had Lind and Feliz out of the free agent pool several times last week. Blame us, obviously, for something within these cuts, but trust me we weren't asleep at the wheel. But something obviously wasn't right on these two cuts.
