Sometimes we see high ceiling players and logic goes out the window.

Julio Borbon was grouped with other Judys. Pierre, Morgan, Davis, and Borbon went closely in a lot of drafts. Sometimes, even creating a speed run, which was almost unheard of before this year.

So far, it is worst case scenario for Borbon owners. He is off to a 1-24 (up to this minute)start. That is more than 150 ponits under the Mendoza line and more than 250 ponits under what Jason Kendall is hitting.

A worse case scenario, because unlike his speed counterparts, Borbon can be sent back down to the minors with no qualms by Rangers Management. He is still young and unproven, and David Murphy is a quality hitter and outfielder.

Pierre, Morgan, and Davis can ride out a slump like this. Seniority has privileges. Borbon has options and is young enough to maybe even benefit from more time in the minors

Certainly, if Borbon isn't hitting by the time Ian Kinsler is ready to come off the d.l., he will be the player sent down to make room for Kinsler. On the other hand, Rangers management did not have patience with Frankie Francisco, time will tell if they do with Borbon.

Borbon owners cannot be at ease.

Borbon is a career .300 hitter in the minors and close to it in his short time in the majors last year. he needs to hit his way out of this. But you are right, Dan, he might get the express to AAA.

I'm officially worried about Chris Davis and Brandon Wood getting "BorBoned" back to the minors if they don't start hitting.

I own him on 3 teams and am just disgusted. He looks clueless at the dish and having that much speed means absolutely nothing if you cannot ever get to first base. I foresee a drop to 9th and a platoon in the near future as a best case scenario for this joker.

Yep, Borboned lifted for PH in the 9th with the bases loaded and "0" outs for Garko who pops up

i thoroughly understand the frustration with julio, but if you dump him, how long do you REALLY think he'll last on the FAAB.

Lance whats up and i agree i would be worried with either Davis or Wood.Izturis will end up at third base he's a good hitter and is the team's best leadoff hitter.Davis has a huge hole in his swing and a top prospect in the minors in Smoak who will be up when crash Davis crashes. :D

I have to admit I was targeting Borbon in my drafts. 7 drafts and I landed him in 1 slow draft and 1 satellite. I did NOT expect this at all. Yes it's only been 1 week but even a switch to the bottom of the order is not what Borbon owners want to see.... J Pierre also slumping to start the year. R Davis, who I was less confident about, is off to the best start of all... oh wait... nope the best Judy right now is ... Scotty Pods!
Still laughing at this one! :D

Sheesh...Kyle Blanks was scaring me pretty good up until todays explosion! I took an early shot on him, as a base of my OF, and was not liking the start of the season...but after today, his leash just loosened up a lot. Sweeeeet! :D

Next week....

Sheesh...Borbon was scaring me pretty good up until todays explosion!

I'll go with 1-25 as a very small sample size.

Borbon will be up to .280 by May 1.

A little birdie told me the Rangers love him as much as they did Andrus last year. He could be sat for a few games soon, but his skill set is the same it was ten days ago when he finished the spring on a .480 tear.

I hope so JZ, my biggest disappointment to date (although teammate Josh Hamilton isn't far behind). He hasn't K'd much, so hopefully the hits start falling.
Texas has very high expectations this year and I think a few are squeezing the bats too hard. Only Cruz and Vlad have hit well so far.

They are going to be fine.

I have the latest on Kinsler

i gues i am missing the whole missouri, missouri thing. so car go is ok with 1/2 years of mlb experience, banks same and bourbon no? i guess in my mind the consistency is- 1 is doing poorly and 2 are doing ok- but none of them should by on anyones team that is looking for missouri, missouri. maybe it is more of " i just liked the guy". that i will buy. the missouri, misouri- not so much.
