Final Call To NFBC Ultimate Participants
I have 12 credit cards for the Ultimate Auction League and 14 for the Ultimate Draft League. We're getting closer to finalizing these. If you're reading the boards guys, I need to confirm with:
Kevin Rogers (he started this idea and definitely is in for the Auction League
David Longood
Terry Haney
KLN
Thanks. I'm at 715-445-4612, ext. 284 or [email protected]

Greg, has the issue been resolved in the Ultimate Draft league regarding the # of teams? If so, could you post it here I didn't catch if it was 15 or more. Thanks and let's get the draft order out!!!

Hmmm.... still waiting on those final 4 guys... Come on boys; poke your heads out and let Greg know where you're hiding already....
Greg, any chance that as soon as you get to 15 credit cards in the Ultimate Draft you can have Tom pick the draft slots; or do you have to wait until you get 15 credit cards for the Auction too? This waiting is killing me. I want to know if I have a shot at Beltran or Pujols or if I'm looking at picks 15 and 16 back-to-back....
Thanks,
Pete

Okay, Terry Haney is in. He's flexible for either draft or auction, although right now he is our 15th Draft League participant. I need to make three more phone calls to finalize this.
We'll pick the draft order for the Draft League when it's full. I have one rule proposal for the Auction League I want to send out to all 15 owners first before I pick the order of that. Of course, there is less urgency to know the order for the Auction League than there is for the Draft League.
Hang tight on the draft order. Maybe we'll do it on Monday and give you guys a few weeks to prepare for this.

Ken Norred would definitely do the Draft League. Two more phone calls to make.

TD, you're making me happy to be in the Auction. I couldn't stand waiting around for my draft order--or deal with the disappointment of a crappy pick.

King - In the Ultimate Draft I have a partner. The nice thing about finding out our draft position early is that it gives us a chance to immediatley rule out certain players we would or wouldn't take in the first 2 or 3 rounds. If we get 14, we know we won't see certain players. If we get 2, we know we wouldn't draft certain players.
Forming a generalized base of players we think will fall to us will help cement our strategy to finish around 9th in our league. If left unknown until the day of the draft, we might have to wing it and probably finish in the top 3. We wouldn't want to do that.

Pete You've got this thing all figured out--I feel bad for the folks in Vegas.

Greg, any chance of letting us know the Ultimate Draft league draft order today?
It'd be fun to have the week-end to think about options.

Sorry, nothing until Monday for sure. I feel your pain, but we need to finalize the 15 participants for each event and I still need to contact a few people. Once we finalize the participants and the payments, we can announce the leagues and pick the draft orders.

Okay, I believe we now have the NFBC Ultimate Draft completed. Terry Haney was nice enough to switch from the Ultimate Draft to the Ultimate Auction once he found out at least 10 owners would be in Las Vegas. I still need to talk to Kevin Rogers, who I know is in, and David Longood to finalize the Auction League. We have 16 who want in the Ultimate Draft and unfortunately Joe may be left out. Bummer.
Here's the list as of today. We may finalize everything on Monday:
NFBC ULTIMATE AUCTION LEAGUE
1. Kevin Rogers, Las Vegas
2. Jim Ferrari, Las Vegas
3. Lewis Lipsey, Las Vegas
4. Ken Magner, Las Vegas
5. Shawn Childs, Las Vegas
6. Michael Fishman, Las Vegas
7. Terry Haney, Las Vegas
8. Brad Feinberg, Las Vegas
9. Meat Loaf/Jeffrey Price, Las Vegas
10. Kelly Uganski, Las Vegas
11. David Longood, Las Vegas
12. Yoni Bornstein, New York or Las Vegas
13. Glenn Schroeter, New York
14. Ari Benjamin, New York
15. James Bores, New York
NFBC Ultimate Draft League:
1. Stanley Kaye, Las Vegas
2. Aaron Seefeldt, Chicago
3. Nevadaman, Las Vegas
4. George Kleemann, Chicago
5. Will Robertson, New York
6. Jason Duponte, Las Vegas
7. Rick Thomas, Las Vegas
8. Eric Peden, Las Vegas
9. Dave Cushard/Clark Olson, Las Vegas
10. Ken Norred, Las Vegas
11. David DiDonato, Las Vegas
12. Howard Markowitz, Las Vegas
13. Eddie Gillis, New York
14. Rick Kanfer/Donn Johnson, Las Vegas

If David Longood drops out, perhaps the Badass Angels would be willing to switch back to the Ultimate Auction.

It's official: 15 owners in the Ultimate Auction League and 15 owners in the Ultimate Draft League. I need to do two more things, but we should be good to go by Monday.
Thanks everyone. Sorry Joe Passano for not getting you in the Ultimate Draft League, but we'll add a few more leagues next year!

Nice work, Greg! Over 3 months in the works, and we're finally at 15 and 15. This is going to be a fantastic event--between the main event and the Ultimate Auction, it promises to be one of the best fantasy sports weekends ever.
For those concerned about KP/F&W's cut on this event, the work that went into putting this together is well worth the "house take." The stat service, licensing fee, hotel room, conference call, etc is just gravy.

I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner--is there any chance of a video conference between Vegas and New York, Greg? Particularly for the auction. I want to see Meat Loaf's face when I outbid him for Pujols
