Priest Pujols

Forget Felix, Albert is the KING!

He reminds me of Priest Holmes from a decade ago (perhaps LT from 3-4 yrs ago). I'd always set my KDS for a late pk (12-15) thinking baseball required more strategy than football.

Obviously you still have 29 more rd's to go after selecting Pujols, so you can def screw up the rest of it....but damn if he doesn't give you a nice headstart.

For those who had the 1st pk and chose someone else.......

Guy is unreal and still dont understnad how you take hanley or anyone over him. Or in my league how it went

1) Hanley

2) A-rod

3) Pujols

it was really nice to see the 40 year old "vet" hoffman throw that 88 mph fastball- right down the middle of the plate- to albert. what was trevors thought process? did he this a.p. was going to be so shocked he wasn't going to swing? dear trevor- walk him- you do not have the stuff anymore to pitch to him.

You're better than Albert! And if given a second chance, I know you can get that fastball by him. And if he gets lucky again, try it one more time.

dan- i think you are correct. the only thing i can hope for is- albert gets that injury that has not occurred for the 1st 125 years of baseball- but now everyone has- the strained oblque! june 23 2010- a.p. will be sidelined for up to 2 months after straining his oblique hitting his 10th homer of the year off of trevor hoffman.

thats just wrong! He is "The Machine" Hey man, here is the "fool" who passed on Pujols for Arod in your league. After one week, Pujols is on pace for 130 HRS and 400 RBI. Arod is on pace for zero HRs and 30 RBI. Let's crown the Pujols owners champs.

Pujols will get his numbers, maybe even better that last year if week one is any kind of indication. However, there is little argument that the other two will get theirs too. Position scarcity is the first reason people would draft any of them over AP, competing on all tools is another. People do not believe that AP will steal nearly as many bases as last year esp if his back gives him problems. Arod could have 20sbs while giving up points on avg while Hanley could rack up avg and SBs with less production (HR and RBI).

Still, we could look like fools until those numbers start to normalize. By then, it would be September.

Element of surprise maybe. Trevor probably thought the LAST place Albert would expect the pitch would be right down the middle. Not the worst logic.

When they normalize you will realize you made a very silly choice there. The good thing for you is it is one you can still win a league with. Good luck!

I agree Chest. And when it comes to position scarcity I feel that a first round pick is one where that should be thrown out the window. it's not like the guy plays OF he plays 1B/CI. And a guy coming off hip surgery who is older is a difficult sale over pujols IMO.

PUJOLS IS THE MACHINE!!! every year we watch him rake and rake and rake. If he didnt play baseball he would own his own landscaping service.

Ryan Ludwick starts the year 3 for 23 and can't get anything going. The first time they slot him in front of Pujols, the guy goes 4-4. Pujols, best of decade? Keep going. This guy has a chance to be one of the top 5 best ever. I've never seen a player this consistently dominant. Looking at his career line is like nothing I've seen before. Simply amazing.

Footnote for a guys who gets no love due to his average being scetchy...

Ryan Howard has averaged a home run every 12.10 at bats in his career? (haven't double checked this myself...thru 2009)

Here was his pace in 2007...

[/QUOTE]I think there's a period there where Bonds dominated more than anyone since Ruth. I don't think I'll ever seen anyone have the impact that Bonds had over those monster years. Good point.
