Rev up the FAAB engines...



Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston announced Wednesday that Kevin Gregg will serve as the team's closer "until further notice."

Jason Frasor has blown two saves in five chances since being named the Jays' closer on Opening Day and currently owns a 6.34 ERA and 2.54 WHIP. Gregg, meanwhile, has a 0.23 WHIP, a 0.00 ERA and a 6/0 K/BB ratio in four appearances. He needs to be owned in all fantasy leagues.

Doubt Gregg is a free agent in most leagues.



Fuentes also on the dl, but Rodney likely a free agent in very few leagues too.

I bet Gregg is available in a lot of the DP leagues, probably not in the mains. He was definitely available in 4 or 5 of my DP leagues last week.

gregg would have been picked up in all leagues last week. if he is, REV UP THE FAAB ENGINE

That's true, any of those guys might still be out there in the DP leagues.

gregg may look like a nice option now... but i owned him last year and he was getting pounded about once a week. i figure it is a matter of time before these american league teams catch up to him. he should be giving up 3 run homers in no time... if gregg is performing the way he is capable, he will destroy your teams whip ratio..

Gregg will surely give his up and probably see-saw with the closing job all year, but his 3 year average is 28 Sv, 3.91 ERA, and 1.28 WHIP in the NL. Most likely to rise quite a bit, but I doubt teams are laughing.



You can't always judge relievers on last year's stats...relieving is very unpredictable, a horrible bullpen one year can be a top one the following year.

[/QUOTE]That's certainly possible. Those who drafted Gregg with a later pick are in position to get what they need from him, that's 10-15 saves from a 3rd closer without killing their FAAB money. That's all you can ask for, a chance...and it was probably worth that 20th rd pick.



My guess is if you had him, you'd be telling everybody about how you saw this coming and how smart you were to take him late!

I drafted him in rd 22 of the main..and if I can get 15 saves from him it wouldmake me very happy....time will tell

At least sweet Lou, who patented the move, threw them (the bases, that is) in the outfield.
