Watch List Is Now Live

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Apr 16, 2010 9:57 am

The Watch List is now live under Free Agents. You can see the Watch List in the upper right hand corner of your free agents listings. Click on the + to add to the Watch List and then you can see Stats and Newsbreaker information. This looks really nice.

The Watch List can even be accessed from your Home Page under Player News. Look for that tab there now. That could save you a lot of time during the week.

And finally, John and his team is working on more enhancements to the Watch List for next week that will even led you bid on a player from your Watch List. Again, that should save you plenty of time, especially if you have multiple teams. This is now live, but more enhancements hopefully are coming here. Enjoy.

This is awesome Greg. Please get them going on getting the free agent pages to load faster. Even marginal improvement would help those of us with multiple teams.

As bad as things started, they are looking a lot better.

I like player news feature on the Home Page as well.

Can we clean up the home page now? Can you remove all of the following which add no value:

*Player Poll - Who's the best player going into 2010?

*Draft Order -

*League News - Attention NFBC Owners: Don't forget that there is a $75,000 cash bonus this year for any NFBC owner who can win BOTH overall titles in the NFBC Classic and the NFBC Double Play. Lindy Hinkelman accomplished that incredible feat to earn an NFBC record of $241,300. Spots are still available in all of the Live NFBC Double Play events and in the Online Double Play contest. Just click on any SIGN UP NOW link for available times and dates for all of these events.

*Commish Message - MESSAGE

Welcome to the 2010 NFBC season. It's a new season, a new time to crown a champion, and as you can see a new web site. The NFBC game site has been enhanced considerably with all of the same features you had before but with a better look and feel. Give your game site a test ride for now and let us know what you think. If you have any feedback or questions, contact us at [email protected]. Enjoy the ride and good luck in all of your leagues this upcoming season.

- The Commish

Maybe if these are removed the message board could be more larger? Thanks

As bad as things started, they are looking a lot better. Agreed. The speed of the page is a major concern prior to the deadline.

As bad as things started, they are looking a lot better. I just posted about that on the Update thread. John and Cory have this one figured out. Get through this weekend and hopefully we can solve that shortly. Sorry for the delay on that, but John is confident they have that one solved.
Great news on both the watch list and especially the speed issues.

Another day....another couple enhancements or upgrades.

Though we may not say it enough, we do really appreciate the commitment to improve.

Great job Greg, Tom, Geoff & the tech guys.

Greg...keep it up and you may earn another day off next year. ;)

Greg, the tech team seems to have missed the point on a watch list. STATS allowed you to sort the FAAB page to show only players on your watch list.

As is it takes you to another location where you can't see your bids, which defeats the purpose almost entirely.

As bad as things started, they are looking a lot better. Chest, the main reason for loading of the pages is because they are using IMAGES(buttons) on every record and displaying them all on one page. They need to just use a link instead of images to load this faster. This seems to be eating about about half the time.

And then they default the page to ALL HITTERS which will take the 2nd most loading time next to pitchers.

But IT boys, get rid of the images on a page with that many data records
Greg,

This is a good start for the Watch List but can it be setup like KJ suggested? (within the faab page so we can see our bids?).

Also, I'd like to be able to sort "watch list" players by position (within the faab page)? Just like we could in STATS. I believe this all helps with staying organized when trying to decide on faab bids for the week.

Looking forward to the other enhancements.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

I'm not sure what all of that entails, but I wanted this to be unveiled this weekend to help you guys before Sunday's bids and if the team can get the rest done next week great. We'll see how it looks when the bidding feature is added next week, but feel free to drop me suggestions if needed. The key is we're moving forward on all of this.

Hey Greg, the watch list currently transfers to all of our teams. That's fine, but it does not differentiate or exclude players already on a team from league to league. This needs to be fixed as it takes more time to check to see if players on the watch list are available. Defeats the purpose of a time saving watch list for those with multiple teams.

Agreed Boras:

I like that the list is across the boards but the system needs to remove players that are already on rosters in various leagues. This is especially important with adding guys to the watch list in the 12 team leagues vs. 15.

It's a nice start though. Just keep enhancing.
