Hey folks, yesterday's chat was a little slow, but we wanted to give it another try today. If you guys are all talked out we'll think about cutting back a bit on the weekly chats, but they've been a lot of fun and we want to give you guys a daily thread where you can talk about anything that strikes your fancy. So let's see where this takes us today. As always, the floor is yours ...

Tom - I am a rookie, I will be playing in Chicago and understand that you are in charge there. I have been playing Head 2 Head exclusively for the past 7 -10 years. I am a sheep. I was wondering if I could get some decent 2004 numbers as to FAAB purchase prices and week in which the free agents were acquired?

Are the FAAB results from last year still available on the Web site? You might want to look into that for a possible guide.



Ultimately, FAAB spending is all about strategy. It's going to change from year to year as the owners change. Even if owners return, chances are how they view the FAAB is going to change as well. I don't think there is ever going to be a blueprint that will walk you through this process effectively because it's all going to depend on the personalities and strategies employed by each of the individuals in your league.

Juan Gonzalez should be the poster boy for when Steroids ruin a great career...the same it may have created?

I just got off the phone interviewing David Ortiz. Correction, I just had an interview with David Ortiz's agent who interrupted all of the questions and didn't like any of the questions that were being asked and ended the interview after only a few minutes.



It's been awhile since I dealt with an agent. I'd forgotten how much I love most of those guys.

What were you asking to caused so many interruptions? Interviews with Ortiz I've seen in the past on NESN were usually pretty good. Funny guy. Jolly fella.

The agent basically interuppted every question and answered the first several without letting Ortiz speak at all. Ortiz seems like a good guy. I wish I could have actually interviewed him.



Oh well.

I wasn't asking him anything outlandish by any stretch of the imagination. Basically I couldn't get in any of the questions about winning the World Series, last year's team or looking ahead to this season, things of that nature. Too bad too like I said because Ortiz seems like a good guy.

~Lance Agree on all in your first list, except maybe Aaron Boone. I would also add Luis Gonzales, and also the guy who probably took them first, Lenny Dykstra. Don't agree with your maybe's though, except maybe Reggie Sanders. Also always wondered about Ron Gant, but he worked out like a maniac, so maybe he didn't.

Certainly Clemens must be added to that Steroid list. We are forgettting a lot of pitchers out there that are juicing...and don't just look at the flame throwers.

Kevin Brown On roids? You must be high! Check his age and his record. Also checked where hes pitched.

Gagne added 7 MPH on his fastball in one offseason (just before becoming the closer)...

H2H, you can find the FAAB results from every league for every week within these message boards as we listed all of the winning bids for all 26 weeks last year. We did that every Monday, so you need to stay on the General NFBC Discussion area and in the upper right hand corner use the pulldown that says "Show All Threads From Past Year." Start on about page 10 or 11 and you'll see the first results from Week 1. Go backwards and you'll see the rest for all 26 weeks. For newbies it shows how each league was different and about what the prices free agents commanded early in the year and then later in the year. All of the information is there, you just need to work a little to find it.
