Through two weeks of the NFBC Auction Championship season, we've already had six different overall leaders. Ironically, all of them have been from either the New York or Atlantic City leagues. Crazy, I know.
Anthony Palavis of the March 26th 10 am Auction League in New York currently leads the overall standings with 1,034.5 points. Previously, leaders included:
Roy Ericson III
David Deterra
Michael Cortese
Eddy Betancourt
Michael Edelman
It's fun to see new names at the top each day. Good luck all. Only 24 more weeks to go!

The NFBC Auction Championship is fun to watch so far as we now have a seventh new owner leading the overall contest after just 15 days of action. That's pretty wild. Marc Meltzer has emerged from the pack this morning to grab the lead after drafting in Las Vegas on March 26th at 4 pm. That was League 1 where Jack was the auctioneer. Good job Marc and good luck to all the rest of the way.

Hey, maybe by the end of this season ALL 135 teams will have led the NFBC Auction Championship at some point!!

This is fun to watch and I'm really looking forward to adding an Auction Championship in our NFFC competition because I think it's going to be as competitive as our baseball version. In auctions, you strategize to get every player your budget possibly lets you, which is why I think we've had so many different overall leaders through the first 2+ weeks. But it's pretty amazing as today we have our eighth different overall leader in 18 days.
Congrats to Jack Haan and John Pausma as they have taken their Chicago Auction League team to the overall leaderboard today, grabbing the top spot. Let's see how long that lasts and if we get another new name at the top during this third week. Congrats guys and good luck to all of the teams in this unique format.

Y'all can lead the rest of the year. I just want to be the last name added to the list when all is said and done.

Congrats to KJ Duke, who took the overall lead today in the NFBC Auction Championship. KJ's Zefurs team has been steadily moving up this past week and he was on Jack Haan's tail these last couple of days. He finally took over the lead today and becomes our ninth overall leader thus far. Good job KJ.

Oh my, I've found my new heroes!! Worst Russians Ever have the greatest stories in NFBC history and we added to it this year in Las Vegas. They LOVE the auction format and we unfortunately did not fill up that last auction on Sunday, March 26th that they were signed up for. We had to cancel it days before the event. Greg Glukhovsky and his brother are two of the nicest guys you'll ever meet who just LOVE fantasy baseball. They are both very successful and very, very busy family men. They just love the getaway of the NFBC and the fun of competing in this format. We're their release and the provider of a great brother-brother hobby.
So they called me on Friday afternoon in Las Vegas to let me know how disappointed they were that the Sunday auction was cancelled. Yes, they were in the Saturday main event, but they really wanted to do the auction. Sure enough, we had one guy who didn't show on Friday afternoon at 4:00 and I called Greg and told him to get his butt downstairs and he could replace this guy. We had no time to lose. We actually had to get started with them on the phone and Ray Flowers filling in during the early part, but they hustled down, gladly took the spot, gladly caught up during the first break and did their best (despite sweating profusely!!).
Everyone in that league was also very polite with them, allowing them time to catch up on the bids, etc. Heck, Ryan was even the auctioneer until I had to relieve him.

Blame King of Queens for that.
So despite all of that, I see the Worst Russians Ever -- weren't you guys the Mad Russians once? -- are 12th overall today. Good job guys. Good job battling back and assembling a very good team. Good luck the rest of the way, but thanks for jumping in at the last moment and making this league not only right but extremely competitive. We'll add it to the 2004 story.

It looks like we have a new leader this week in the NFBC Auction Championship. Kudos to NFBC veterans Richard Gordon and Charles Levitz as they have steered their team to the top of the Auction Championship standings. There's been a bit of a shakeup here as Michael Cortese has had the top spot for 2+ months now, but his team has dropped three spots this week. Veterans Kevin Bass and Dan Mitlof have moved into the Top 3 now. Good luck all and this has been a fun, fun race to watch this year.
