'Hey, I Hit the Ball Twice'-
Last night Josh Johnson threw a complete game three hitter. He also had three hits and three rbi.
Great game but not eye catching.
Even in a 10-1 clobbering of the Padres, the Marlins struck out 12 times themselves.
Dan Uggla's line was totally Uggla.
2-5, a home run, a stolen base, with three strike outs.
'Tiger Starters Are No Good'-
Phil Coke leads the Tigers in wins with three.
Eddie Bonine and Joel Zumaya have two each.
No tiger starter has more than one.
'But They're Better Than the Reds'-
Micah Owings and Nick Masset have two victories each for Cincinnati. Half of the Reds wins.
The only starter with a Reds victory is Mike Leake.
Leake is also the only Reds starter with an ERA under 5.70
And, if you're thinking about picking Masset up to vulture some wins, his ERA is 12.38
'We're not in Boston anymore'-
Last week in a three game series against the Red Sox, the Texas Rangers were successful stealing 14 of 14 times.
In a Four game series concluding in Detroit last night, the Rangers were zero for three in stealing bases.
'SOME Team Has to Have Good Starter Stats!'-
Mets starters over the last 11 games have an ERA of 1.30....Yes, Oliver Perez still pitches for the Mets
'He Wins Too?'-
The active career leader in wins out of the bullpen is Mariano Rivera. 68 Wins sounds like a lot. But, he averages less than five wins per year.
'And Now he Gives Himself the Finger'-
Since June 5 of last year, Jorge De La Rosa is a 19 game winner
'Get Past Beckett, And it gets Even Better!'-
No bullpen in the A.L. has given up more home runs than the Red Sox. In fact, every pitcher on Boston's roster has already given up at least one home run.
'Who Knew?'-
Since 2007, Four MLB games have ended up with the score 17-3, like the Brewers and Pirates last night.
During the same time frame, there have been ZERO NFL games with that score.
