First Month in NFBC

My first month in the NFBC is now over and its a tale of two sides really.

It started off rough as I couldnt believe that I didnt get my draft order until literally a couple days before the draft. Dropping that much coin I figured you would have at LEAST a week to prepare or what not...really something I feel needs to be looked at in the future.

The draft didnt start on time as a guy was late to the draft and I couldnt believe it..anywhere else we start and the guy is on the clock...but oh well...its understandable.

The rest of the draft had a few hiccups and had to stop a few times as guys tried to draft one player and the system would give them another..got crazy a few times actually.

So finally made it through the draft and although I made a terrible pick late (Salty) I felt I did a good job to have a league title contending team.

So I was all excited for the first games the following day and then the whole FAAB process went to complete **** and really is just now getting to be where it needs to be from day one.

Still boggles my mind that this big of a contest has had sooo much crap happen early and OFTEN.

Greg, Tom and Geoff have helped whenever they can but you could even read the frustration of Greg on several posts and at the end of the day even with a mob on your hands....the customer is always right..especially ones that are allowing you guys to make a living off of fantasy sports!!

Good guys...terrible preparation for this season.

With all that said I dont have any issues with the people running the show..just how they have handled it so far.

I mean people shouldnt be giving you props for something you FIX..they should be giving you props for something that you COMPLETED before the season started.

So the off the field part of the NFBC has completed made me question joining the football leagues and really make me wonder if even playing baseball next year would be wise. I know people are vouching for how things have ran in the past..but the fact of the matter is that this is my first year with the NFBC and thats all I got to go on.

Now to the on the field part of the NFBC...

Year started off slow for me with Carlos Lee leading the way for no homers and no RBI's thru most of April. My pitching was posting great WHIP and ERA numbers but couldnt get a win to save their lives.

Then this past week my team has hit 20+ homers and now its my hitting leading the team and my pitching is completely struggling.

The FAAB has been a guessing game as I had to drop salty and picked up Chris Snyder early and then picked up Varitek as insurance in case Pudge and his back go down.

Made a push for Ty Wiggy but he went for alot more than i was willing to put down (128) for a backup to Longoria, Cano, Uggla and Laroche in my infield.

But with all that said I am in first place in my league with 102 pts and 7th overall in the Online competition.

So as much as the on field part has been exciting its the off the field parts that have me worried and I just wonder how legit everything is when you have dead Celebrity teams, stat errors daily, and guys allowed to change their lineups a few innings into games.

There have been EXCUSES for all those things to happen but quite frankly its the lack of preparation that has allowed all this to go down.

So to give my first month here in NFBC a grade I would give the following.

ON FIELD: B

OFF FIELD: D

Till next month!!
