From the USA Today - "Hall of Famer Robin Roberts, the greatest right-hander in Phillies' history, died Thursday morning in his Temple Terrace, Fla., home from natural causes, the Phillies announced
Roberts pitched 19 years in the major leagues, 14 for the Phillies. He had a 286-245 career record with a 3.41 ERA in 609 games (609) starts. He won 234 games for the Phillies. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976 and never missed the annual induction ceremony."
A great one from the greatest age of baseball. He won 234 games but threw 305 COMPLETE GAMES! In 1950 or 1952 as part of the Whiz Kids, threw three games in five days to take the pennant.
Amazing.
