After seeing those curveballs to Milledge I am predicting an ERA/whip 0.50/0.50 for Strasburg this season.

I consider the Pirates to be a AAAA team.

Maybe Strasburg should have spent more time in AAAA
Lost in the shuffle is if Stanton keeps up this pace, he'll hit 1.000

Whew, that was hard to watch the Nationals broadcast....had to switch over to the Pirates one. Funny, Nats announcers blessed him as the best ever....until he gave up a hit.
Lefties and a patient lineup will do well against the kid, but he does look pretty good for a first start.

On two separate occasions!
Took a chapter out of Musburger's Book of Overdramatizaion.

First time I have ever seen him pitch. Impressive.
He reminds me of Dwight Gooden. Similar stuff.

Hopefully, he doesn't pick up some of Dwight's bad habits.

101 mph in the sixth inning. Wow. What great stuff. Very impressive debut.
And with a full stadium, Strassburg could be a bargain for the Nationals already. Look for Boras to renegotiate that "bad" $15 million contract he forced Strassburg to sign.

Advantage Nats.

It's Strasburg. With the love affair the media is having with him it will be a household name soon.

Quite a contrast watching Strasburg on one screen and Wakefield on the other.
I'm not much into memorabilia, but Young's HR ball that the guy threw back must have been worth a little something.

Costas could not possibly be more over the top about Strasburg. He was saying early on how if Strasburg lived up to his potential that he would not just be a Hall of Famer but an historic player.
Maybe the kid earns it. Maybe he's Doc Gooden, Roger Clemens and Nolan Ryan all rolled into one. Or maybe he's Mark Prior.
My memo to Mr. Costas would read: No rookie - especially one in his first start - should be mentioned in the breath with the words Hall of Fame. Ever. It's too long a road and it's littered with "coulda, woulda and shoulda" players

Maybe a little early for hall of fame talk, but 15 more starts like this and guess who's a first round pick in the NFBC next year.
