Junk

Junk is just opinion. Agree or disagree, I don't care.
I say 'just', mostly, because opinions mean little in the long run, which already renders this a meaningless post and I haven't even started.
I thought it was only right that George Steinbrenner died during the All Star break. In life, he enjoyed making the biggest splashes and grabbing the headlines. His PR Director in the sky made the right move in having Steinbrenner die while baseball was at a standstill.
Another All Star game in the books. I learned nothing except that this truly is a pitcher's year.
Pedroia, Ellsbury, Roberts, Reyes, Ethier, Morales, Rollins, Polanco, etc....All injured, I've said it before, if you want to have health, season long, get a BigBoy. Someone that moves like a sloth and looks like a bouncer at a biker bar.
Fielder, Howard, Sabathia (although he has turned 30, so watch out), etc, those big bones keep 'em healthy. Fielder and Howard haven't missed a game......just sayin'
Today the Jays-Braves trade was announced. The commish doesn't allow announcements like trades before the All Star game because he is confused in thinking that we, as fans, are on pins and needles waiting for the game and cannot be distracted.
Anyways the trade can only help Escobar owners and only hurt Gonzalez owners. In short because we cannot expect any more from Gonzalez, but a change of scenery can only help Escobar.
It should be interesting to see if Escobar catches 'Jays Fever' and starts bopping out of nowhere.
The home run hitting contest is over. I defy anybody here to remember who won a month from now.
It is a fleeting event.
Chris Young and Corey Hart in a home run hitting contest?
Really?
It makes me wonder how close they were to asking Omar Infante.
A staff of Danks, Buehrle, Peavy, Floyd, and Garcia pitching for them over the first half, the White Sox have the hottest team in baseball.
Of those five pitchers, who leads them in Wins?
If you said Freddy Garcia, you are correctomundo.
And folks say w's is a stupid category
My favorite trivia question-
What two days of the year have no professional (MLB,NFL,NBA,NHL) games scheduled?
The answer is the day before and the day after the MLB All Star game.
I miss Lance, Mark, John, RT, Kent, and some other folks posts on these Boards. They all have different reasons for not posting much or in some cases not posting at all, but I miss their posts.
They kept these Boards humming, no matter what their opinions were or how strongly they were disagreed with.
There was a time when we couldn't say the word 'Fanball' without evoking some kind of emotional response.
A lot of folks expected a smooth running machine at the beginning of the season and were disappointed. I know, I was one of them.
Since then the fixes have come and the site is better. Some things are better than what we had before, some, not so much.
As I see it, the beef that remains isn't so much with Greg or Tom, or the NFBC, or even the site. For some folks, it is Fanball.
Before, we lived in a world where the NFBC was king. Sure Krause owned it, but they were a quiet owner who gave freedom to Greg, albeit not much money, you know, sort of like the A's franchise. And Greg ran it like Billy Beane.
With Fanball, there were promises made that weren't kept. And they happened early, which is never good for a new owner. Some folks have not gotten over it, some have.
I've gotten over it. Hell, I'm not going to have lunch with Ryan tomorrow or anything like that, but I am willing to give Fanball another chance and I urge some of the folks that e-mail me to do the same.
I am cocksure that we will get paid at the end of the year. I can't say that about other contests. I have played in some, where I wasn't paid, and it is not a good feeling.
If still, those 'trust' feelings about Fanball remain after being paid in a timely fashion, only then, should you have a talk with yourself about not entering next year's contest.
I've made my decision and I'll be here with the NFBC.
No shilling, in fact the last time I 'talked' (He did all the 'talking') to Greg, he was yelling at me (erroneously) about a post I had written.
Anyways, think about it, where are you going to get customer service (disregard my Greg conversation here ) like we get here?
Ever try correcting CBS or Yahoo, etc?
Yeah, me too
I've gone on way too long with this, just got a little carried away, but the point is more than made.
That should be enough jibberish in this post to get folks through to what we are all looking forward to.
Baseball tomorrow night.
