Alright, last post for a bit, you guys are probably sick of me....

Last night my hypothetical at the ballpark was this (these)

Your family's life depends on it, current players-

1. Who would you want at the plate for a hit?

2. Who would you want at the plate for a home run?

3. Who would you want on the mound for an out?

4. Who would you want on the mound for a strike out?

My answers were:

1. Ichiro

2. Howard

3. Rivera

4. Kuo/Marmol

Kuo would have to be facing a lefty, Marmol a righty.

What are your answers?
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

What are your answers? Ill go first

1- No doubt- Jeter! clearest answer IMO

2- With his resurrection, I'll go with David Ortiz, but Howard is a great choice too.

3- Agree with Mo for all three outs.

4- Is it too soon to say Strassburg?

1. Jeter

2. Howard

3. Wagner

4. Wagner

Billy is one of the most underrated players of the modern era. Compare his stats to Mo's and you will see. Better stats across the board. I know some will say Rivera's championships with the Yanks, AL East vs NL. Wagner has been just as filthy and even more unhittable than Mo.

Just ask a Mets, Philly or Astro's fan. The guy folds when money is on the line. AND, if the Braves are in it at the end, mark my word, there will be blown saves aplenty.

Here is my 1970’s NL/AL version. Some of these picks are from my own memory; some are from looking at the stats. There were a couple of guys I really would have liked to put on the list because they were some of my favorite players growing up (Bench, Brett) but they just didn’t make the cut.

SO- 1971 Tom Seaver 1973 Nolan Ryan

Out- 1977 Bruce Sutter 1978 Goose Gossage

H- 1973 Pete Rose 1977 Rod Carew

HR 1971 Hank Aaron 1978 Jim Rice
