A take on the trade today-

I just crossed Chris Dickerson off my draft lists for next year. He has been traded to Milwaukee. The place where speed goes to die. Ken Macha's idea of risk is putting on a sock and a shoe instead of two socks and then two shoes.

Rickey Weeks, Alcides Escobar, and Corey Hart are like mice on a spinning wheel. They wanna run, but Macha lives in a permament red light district.

Mike Maddux has left and the GM thinks that Suppan, Wolf, and Bush as the heart of a rotation is solid. Management should be scrapped. This team needs to use the talents it possesses now, and start over with the pitching staff....

The Reds receive Jim Edmonds.

The kids seemed to have gotten the Reds to this point. Dusty Baker loves his vets and will count on them down the stretch. This move makes Drew Stubbs FAAB'able. It also hurts Jonny Gomes a little, and maybe even Jay Bruce a bit. Lance Nix should not have been rostered.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the Reds management mess up what has brought them this far. Travis Wood has been their best pitcher of late. He was sent down today, not to save innings or his arm, he'll get a minor league start, the Reds are just taking 'advantage' of off days.

Yeah, a head scratcher for me too.

Messing with kids on a roll is never a good idea.

It seems to me that Mike Leake should have been the one sent down, but the Reds are all about experience and Leake has three months on Wood.

They assure us that Aaron Harang is coming back. I don't know whether to take that as good news or a threat.

Joey Votto can carry a team, but only so far. Playing time for Edmonds over Gomes and Stubbs is not a step in the right direction.

Essentially, it makes Dusty feel better on the bench. It does not make the Reds a better team.

Macha may not make it to the end of the year. Thinking he will be there next year is a bit of a stretch. That the same might be true for Dusty seems to good to be true. Loved the Harang comment. :D
