Combining the Forecaster with other pre-season projections and analysis is the best way to go. I would never rely on just one source, whether that was the Forecaster or Fantasy Sports Magazine or ESPN.com. But I'd definitely use all of them.

Tom/Greg - What is the earliest you would draft Carl Crawford in the NFBC? Just curious...

Thanks,

Pete

Pete, I'd be surprised if Crawford got out of the first round in any draft. Early second at the latest.

If I am drafting in the last third of the first round, you can bet he will not make it out of the first round in my league.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

[/QUOTE]I wasn't trying to skirt the question. It really depends on the players who went before my pick and where I was drafting. I'd love to get him near the end of the first round. If I was drafting in the middle of the round I probably wouldn't take him.

Crawford - my guess is that he will be gone no later than the 12th pick.

Not bad for a 2 1/2 category guy. His avg can alway regress and he doesn't help in homeruns and rbi's. If he bats .270 he will really hurt you with all those AB's.

2003 TB 151 630 80 177 18 9 5 54 26 102 55 10 .281 .309 .362

2004 TB 152 626 104 185 26 19 11 55 35 81 59 15 .296 .331 .450

What am I missing about Crawford? Does his increase in some power categories from '03 to '04 really warrant his jump from 3rd/4th round to automatic 1st rd ? 6 more hrs, more 2b,3b's. The stolen base landscape hasnt changed much from '03 to '04 either. I guess a lot of people are projecting a 20-50 season.

I think it has to do with the fact there are very few proven SB options in the game anymore. He was one of only four players to have 40 or more SBs last season and with his ability to reach 60 SBs he could be one guy who delivers a huge swing in that category.

Tom/Greg - If we end up with an odd number in any one city, how is it determined who gets to be part of one of the "patch work" leagues?

Do those of us who signed up earlier get first priority for the FULL leagues?

Just curious..

Thanks!

He is the guy who drafted Crawford 4th in an expert league mock draft; and then followed it up with Renteria in round two, followed by Rollins in round three. His team couldn't hit its way out of a paper bag but they sure can run. Thats all you need to know about him.

I only look at Shandler's book to see what the masses are overbidding on. haha so true, I remember they were sky high on Brad Fullmer who went on avg in the 12th round. What sucks is still having to drop $25 to find this out !

I promise we'll get the two NL Auction Leagues in Las Vegas formed and selection orders announced no later than tomorrow morning. Hang tight for a few more hours. Thanks.

Good question. I was going to bring some apparel to each city and let people see what the products look like. Is anyone else interested in some NFBC T-shirts, polo shirts, hats or sweatshirts? The NFBC store is still active and you can find the link right above the Question of the Week on the home page on the left-hand side. If you show up with an NFBC apparel on I'll buy you a drink! :D

Hey Greg and Tom!

Now I'm no fashion designer...but judging by how quickly another game's thong underware for the wives/girlfriends sold out...I'd recomend two things...

1) Quickly purchase 20 Black and 20 White victoria secret thong underware...(the kind with a triangle of material in the back top.

2) Have a company stitch the NFBC logo in that small area in the triangle in the back. (full color logo)

3) Have a nice looking, shapely woman wearing the current style low-cut jeans/shorts be the model/salesperson for a booth with your products. (Everytime she bends over...the low cut jeans expose the logo!!!...nice assoiciation!

I can gaurantee they sell out after the beers and draft and beers. Mark them up for a nice profit...and then add them to your online store.

...that's be 50 bucks for the idea.

;)

(p.s...although vodka/redbulls are top notch...if you run out of vodka...do not add tequilla to the mix to make it up to strength...yuck!!!)
