435

A number not like any other, that 435.
Nobody in Major League history has hit 435 home runs.
Nope, when they get to 435, the bus never stopped. Not at 435.
Not one player has hit 435 triples. Of course, nobody has hit 335 either, but that is beside the point.
Only one man in baseball history has hit 435 doubles. Everybody else either attained the number and moved on or didn't want to reach that plateau.
The one man who reached it?
Wally Moses.
That's right.
Wally Moses.
Wally Moses is now dead.
Wally would have turned 100 years old this year, but, that is beside the point.
Bad mojo, that 435.
There are more mormons living within area code 435, then in any area code in the world. That too, is beside the point.
There are 435 members of the House of representatives doing little to help us, and a lot to help themselves in this recession.
Again, that is beside the point.
When Fanball bought the NFBC, it tried to get as many sign ups as possible. Two weekends were better than one. An added venue in St Louis. For my part, good ideas in a rotten economy.
The NFBC blossomed and grew to a record number of players. It grew to, gulp, 435 players. THAT, is the point.
From a purely numerical view, I should have shouted warnings, I should have called one of the 435 members of the House. I should have told you guys. But I didn't. Ugly, is 435
Fanball had nothing but bad luck after the 435 players were in place. In one week, Greg fielded 435 complaints. Blame the number, not Fanball.
Or blame Fanball for staying on the number.
In our little corner of the world, 435 in the Overall is currently occupied by Eric Wasilew.
If I were to have a 'Cold Hard Look' at Eric's team, it may go something like this:
Rounds 1-5
Braun
Adrian Gonzalez
Jose Reyes
Nelson Cruz
Jonathon Broxton
A dynamite start. Braun has underperformed for a number five overall pick, but take away Cruz' health issues and this is a solid top five.
Kudo's
Rounds 6-10-
Wandy Rodriquez
Bobby Abreu
James Shields
Scott Baker
Jorge Posada
Still looking good. Solid starters. Eric is not afraid to take on some age. Solid, no standouts, but solid.
Rounds 11-15
Jason Heyward
Chipper Jones
Carlos Zambrano
Dexter Fowler
Jeff Niemann
It breaks down a little bit for Eric here. Heyward has succeeded at every level, but also has been hurt at every level. Put that together with Chipper Jones on the same real life team and fantasy team and you've got trouble. Did you know Chipper has been hurt 435 times in his career?
Zambrano, Fowler and Niemann round out the middle rounds in a forgettable way. By the way, 435 tantrums for Zambrano....That is both, before the age of three, and after.
They say the draft is won during the second half of the draft. For Eric, it was 435, baby, 435, here I come.
Here are the picks:
16 Ruiz
17 Morales
18 Buehrle
19 Gordon
20 Valbuena
21 F Lopez
22 Meche
23 Brantley
24 Wood(It doesn't matter which, right? But it's Brandon)
25 Feldman
26 JP Howell
27 Sanchez
28 Tillman
29 Rodney
30 Fontenot
Only one word sums up those last 15 picks.
Nah, screw it, it needs more than one, more like 435.
Eric made some free agent moves.
Not 435, like you'd expect, nope, just five or six, kinda...
He dropped F Lopez and got Brendan Ryan.
Quit laughing, I love Brendan Ryan...just on the field and not on my fantasy team.
He then dropped Tillman and picked up Blackburn
Then Dropped Rodney and picked up Corpas
Then dropped JP Howell and picked up Freddy Garcia
Then Saito for Meche
Then, realizing his mistake, he reversed the earlier deal, re-getting Lopez and dropping Ryan.
Since then, no moves.
He has a lot of FAAB money.
He still starts Chipper.
For those that think that the pickings are easier in Chicago, Eric made his selections in the same venue as the MVP Party (There was an MVP Party, right?) in good ol' Las Vegas
Somebody has to be 435.
Somebody had to beat out Rich Gannon for the 'honor'
We have our House Member.
We have our Wally Moses.
We have our 435.

Eric, I haven't met you, and I hope you have a wonderful sense of humor
If not, I'll be expecting 435 rolls of tp dressing my trees or 435 sacks of poop stuffed into my car.
Thanks in advance for being a good sport.
