This is always a fun exercise before the end of the season, so let's try it again. With 2011 drafts right around the corner, can you predict the 15 players who will likely go in the first round next year?

You folks can probably do this better than me, so help us out. Here's a few players who should go early. Who else goes in the first round?

Albert Pujols

Miguel Cabrera

Hanley Ramirez

Joey Votto

Carl Crawford

Carlos Gonzalez

Troy Tulowitzki

Evan Longoria

Roy Halladay

Alex Rodriguez

Do any of these players make it into the first round?

Ryan Howard

Matt Holliday

Adrian Gonzalez

Josh Hamilton

Robinson Cano

Ryan Braun

Mark Teixeira

David Wright

Let's see your Top 15 if you were jumping into a draft today. It's all for fun anyways. Thanks.

I would think Carl Crawford would have to be in the top 15

He's having a great year and it will be interesting to see where he lands after free agency. Let's hope he plays just as hard next year AFTER he has the big contract. ;)

Holliday: SBs disappeared. That aside, his relative consistency in other 4 categories, plus hitting behind Albert, should push him into top 15. Yes

Gonzalez: Ballpark and lack of surrounding talent leave him prone to severe dry spells. Other then that his numbers are hard to argue with and he is still fairly young and inj free. Yes

Braun: Power was a bit light this year, but it was across the board. Still view him as a lock for good five category numbers. Yes

Howard: If he hadnt missed a few weeks, his numbers would be right there. Still in good park, good team, plenty of protection. Yes

Cano: Cano's avg has dipped in last 3 weeks. When he was pushing .330 I would have said definitely because the dominance in the avg category makes up for lack of sbs. in the 310 range...he is a bubble pick. Maybe

Hanilton: An injury waiting to end his season and yours. No.

Texeira: You waited through the April-May awfulness and you got a great 2 1/2 months. Then you got another month and 1/2 of season-killing oh-fers. I know he has been beat up with toe and hand, but combine age, injuries with traditional SLOOOOOOWWWW starts and a lot of folk willbe wary. No

Wright: Yes his overall numbers come out to a bottom first rounder's. Yes in fantasy baseball I suppose the ends justify the means, but is there amore hot and cold player? More importantly he is a poison Met. What does that mean? He will be villified in the press, target of cheap shots and bad medical attention from the team, and every other bad luck and curse imaginable. No.

Halladay: Mid-30s starting pitcher. Absolutely no way Halladay taken as first rounder nets even a league championship IMO. No.

Albert Pujols

Miguel Cabrera

Hanley Ramirez

Joey Votto

Carl Crawford

Carlos Gonzalez

Troy Tulowitzki

Evan Longoria

Alex Rodriguez

Matt Holliday

Roy Halladay

Adrian Gonzalez

Ryan Braun

Ryan Howard

i think the reason some people don't like picking 11-15 is being displayed. seemed pretty easy last year. i would go tex over hamilton but that is just me.

Shouldn't CC Sabathia be on this list? I would take him in the top 10, he's one of only a handful of pitchers that is a sure thing.

Mike, Anyone who drafts Tex in first round did not own him this year. Incredibly painful. I go Cano over Tex and Hamilton. Which one of these guys bounces back into first round for 2012:

Kemp

Utley

Mauer

Reyes

I wouldn't touch him in the first round, but just curious if Mr. 50 HR's find his way onto anyone's list?

Glenn i don't like the guy, but his skill set this year supports what he is doing. given that he plays 3b, i can see him going late first round.

Glenn I thought it was interesting to read in Sports Illustrated that all of Bautista's HRs have been pulled to left field. NONE to RF. You wonder why folks pitch him inside if he's changed his approach that much. Wouldn't you just work this guy low and away everytime now?

The biggest surprise 50 HR season since Brady Anderson!! ;) Any similarities there? I know Shawn thinks so. ;)

Mark Reynolds made a few first rounds this year.

I suppose Bautista can do the same next year....unless there is some uncovering of a scandal during the off season.

To his credit, he has been a great 'mistake' hitter this year.

The question is- Does he or doesn't he? ;)

all you brewer/packer fans- for more on how it can happen- view cory hart. i have never seen a guy look so bad at the plate as he did from july 2008 all the way to may of 2010 and then he decides- hey, i better quit swinging at every outside low pitch i see. face it- baseball is a game of skill and confidence. guys like hart and bautista were confident this year. bautista may be on something- but bonds, sosa, mcguire were huge guys. in sosa and bonds case- they got huge from steroids. bautista is still sort of thin. plus- that whole team is just swinging for the fences on every pitch. ugla would be a great fit at 1st base for them. just my take.

I think Utley will find his way into the end of the first round.

Unbelievable what a home run binge in September can do for your 2011 value (Tulo). Without September, is Tulo even a second rounder next year?

Okay, there are two NFBC drafts taking place right now and maybe we can look at both drafts to see what the first round is looking like. Dan Kenyon has set up both of them, a Message Board draft that can be found on another forum and a pay league that is drafting via email right now.

I don't have the first round results from the latter, but if Dan is willing to post the first 15 picks without owners' names we can compare the two and see what the first round is shaping up like for 2011. Here's the first round from the MB draft, which is starting its second round. Pay no attention to the man behind Curtain No. 15 because he doesn't know what he's doing!! :D

First Round

1. Albert Pujols- Glennerationx

2. Carlos Gonzalez- Asumijet

3. Miguel Cabrera- Navel Lint

4. Hanley Ramirez- Raskol

5. Joey Votto- BEF

6. Troy Tulowitzki- headhunters

7. Evan Longoria- Schwks

8. Carl Crawford- Lawrence Liebman

9. Alex Rodriquez- Don M

10. Ryan Braun- DOUGHBOYS

11. Josh Hamilton- Catch

12. Roy Halladay- Head2Head

13. Robinson Cano - emalbright

14. Chase Utley - ToddZ

15. Ryan Howard - GregA

Did we miss anyone? Anything you see here out of sorts? Let's discuss and have some fun with this. Heck, we might even shape some opinions that you'll see later in pre-season magazines. ;)

AROD's 2nd half hr binge was nice to see. For the first time in a few years, you might be able to get him for a decent profit.

It should't be a problem, I'm checking with folks in the league to see if there are any problems on their end.

If not, I'll post them soon.
