Mark had an amazing season as he won a pair of NFBC Main Events. His New York League 4 team finished with 131 points and combined with his Atlantic City Live Double Play team to win the Combined Prizes title. His Atlantic City Main Event team also finished first with 119 points to combine with his AC Double Play team for a fourth overall finish. Great job Mark.

Mark prepared for the season by competing in NINE Slow Drafts. In all, he won eight league titles this year and cashed in 13 of 14 events. His only league that he didn't cash in was an Online Double Play in which his team finished third. That's 14 Top 3 finishes in 14 leagues. Pretty amazing.

GREAT JOB MARK. Time to start the Slow Draft season, right? ;) I guess hard work does pay off as your second place overall finish in the Main Event will lift your 2010 winnings to $46,525. Nice season.

Agreed. Love or hate the MB Gekko, you have to respect the player that he is and the numbers he put up this year.

Congrats!!

I just have to say....

Cashing in 13 out of 14 leagues is beyond incredible. Winning 8 of those 14 leagues is ridiculous. I'm embarrassed now for mentioning that I was proud of my percentage of top 6 league finishes in another thread.

With players like Mark & Steve and several others we all know, we are truly testing ourselves against the best of the best in this contest.

Congrats again Mark. Insane job.

Wow. Pound for pound Mark's performance truly bests all of ours this year. That cashing % is beyond comparison and validates all the hard work he puts into a season. Great job Mark

The perfectionist in Mark is probably telling him that if he cashed in 13 of 14 leagues, that he should have played in the Diamond, Supers, and what not.

Really Mark, I think that is the most extraordinary achievement that I have heard of in the NFBC. I know you would rather have Lindy's prize money, but those accomplishments really are over the top.

That is one hell of a season. Will remember that along with some not so memorable things along the way. Cashing in all those leagues is incredible.

What a great job by Mark Srebro cashing in winnings in so many different formats!! I had to compete against him in NY Weekend 2 league 4 this year. After winning back-to-back league titles in '08 and '09 I was dreaming of a third league title until Mark left us all in the dust in that league and went on to 2nd place overall NFBC finish along with all his other titles!! All hail to the conquering hero!!! :D

Thanks everyone

I stick by my claim that fantasy baseball is mostly skill. Jupinka's season, my season, and others are proof of it. A couple weeks ago, I get into a debate with a couple people concerning "investing in the market". I said it's a rigged game, and the best investment vehicle I know of is me playing fantasy baseball. It's nice to see my hard work (and it was) show up on the scoreboard. Winning a 15 team league is tough enough, but in year 7 of the NFBC, most of you are seasoned vets now.

Anyways, just a quick summary of this year...

This year was an EPIC season for me. I entered a total of 14 NFBC leagues. My lowest finish was 3rd place, I won 7 of the 14 leagues (was winning 9 of them until this past weekend) and finished "in the money" in a total of 13 of them. The one league I missed out on prize money was a 12 teamer that only paid out the top 2 spots (I finished 3rd). I realize a season like this is very rare, and I may never approach it again.

Breakdown of leagues I entered...

15 team live leagues with weekly free agents

$1,300 Main Event Atlantic City 1st

$1,300 Main Event New York 1st

$1,300 Auction New York 2nd

15 team on-line leagues without weekly free agents

$125 Slow Draft #1 2nd - tie

$125 Slow Draft #2 1st

$125 Slow Draft #3 1st

$125 Slow Draft #4 2nd

$125 Slow Draft #5 1st

$125 Slow Draft #7 3rd

$125 Slow Draft #11 2nd - tie

$125 Slow Draft #14 2nd

$125 Slow Draft #19 1st

12 team live leagues with weekly free agents

$500 Double Play Atlantic City 1st

$500 Double Play New York 3rd

Dan - I realize the competition gets harder the higher you go on the food chain. The perfectionist in me wants to know why I didn't finish in the money in my final draft of the year (NY Live Double Play).

Thanks for the kind words about the achievement.

BTW, there was one owner who beat me twice, winning both $125 slow draft leagues. I think he deserves a lot of credit. Here's to you Mike Edelman. GREAT job running the table in both drafts.

That is one hell of a season, Mark!!!

Congratulations! :D

PS. Why would I EVER play baseball again when I have ZERO chance against you, Jupinka, etc.?? ;)

PS - Don't sell yourself short. Put the time into baseball and success will follow. You have a sharp mind, just add a little more patience to the equation.

[/QUOTE]Yeah patience is a virtue I still haven't come close to mastering in fantasy baseball.

Mark..Great Job this year just goes to prove how good you really are. Just give me a heads up next year on who the next Braun is

I couldn't believe it when I passed you in the 2nd slow draft on the last day my team was in shambles but I had just enough, and I have to thank you for going wire to wire in the other one if it wasn't for you texting me while I was at the black jack table in AC I wouldn't have had as much success ;)

Great Job again I look forward to trying to keep up with you again next year...

Good thing it was a slow draft and it didn't let me cut Inge, Encanarcion, and Carter for all those homers in the last week They were definitely better then Pedrioa, Zimmerman and Hanley on my bench Glad you called that one wrong...
