Seriously, how ridiculous is this guy? Right now, I can only think of a handful of hitters more valuable and as much of a sure thing as the Phils ace going into 2011.

Any way this guy drops out of the first round next year?

OK, since it is October, let's talk about this from a real baseball perspective rather than fantasy baseball.

When you factor in Halladay's workload, dominance, consistency, character, effect on young pitchers (listen to Toronto's young staff talk about him).....how many baseball players would you rather have than him for the 2011 season?

He's the best pitcher in baseball.

He's the Phillies' MVP by a mile.

I don't know if there is a player in baseball I would rather have for 2011.

Oh yeah, fantasy baseball - he is a late first or early second round pick. That seems to be where the number one pitcher goes each year. Choose a late pick in KDS, grab an elite hitter and Halladay and then two more good hitters in round 3/4. You are just as well off after round four as the guy that starts with 3 hitters and then takes his ace.

Glenn WOW, that will get you excited about the post-season. What a stud that guy is. I mean, four balls left the infield. Geez. His ball moves so much and he's so in command on the mound, it's just a pleasure to watch. That was fun, I have to admit.

And both Philadelphia and Minnesota were beautiful venues to watch on TV. Man, that looked like fun to be there, even if the Twins did squander that 3-0 lead. Beautiful park and I hope to get there next year to witness first-hand. And beautiful weather again today around here for another game.

As for Halladay, yes, I bet he does go in the first round in most NFBC drafts. As Fred said, you can grab him and an elite hitter down at the turn and be in great shape. But of course that's what folks said about Lincecum last year. You never really know when it comes to pitchers, but this guy is ELITE.

I took Halladay at #9 overall in Doughboy's early draft that is going now. I would have taken him at #1 if necessary. Best player in baseball.

Nah, I don't think I would take Doc in the top 5; he is something though

Halladay had only two starts all year where he gave up as many 6 ER(vs BOS 5.2 IP/8 H/6 ER/2 BB;vs NYY 6.0 IP/8 H/6 ER/2 BB). If you take those stats away from his season totals you would have a 2.15 ERA/1.009 WHIP!In addition, his 9 CG's were more than any MLB team except two( only TEX and MIN had as many as 9 CG's). That's true dominance and worthy of a first round pick!! :D
