This time of year, I get stopped by friends and family and am asked, who will win the World Series. Because I know quirky little things like Elvis Andrus only having one rbi without the benefit of runners in scoring position, somehow, makes me more qualified to answer the question.

Unfortunately, no matters who's mouth it comes out of, it's just an opinion.

One of my good friends is a Giant fan, my son-in-law, a Ranger fan. They both told me the same line today..."Well, if they're going to beat us, they have to beat our three best pitchers."

Of course, neither thought about facing the other team's three best pitchers...

I hope replay never comes to baseball. Football has it and still screws up calls.

I don't care if there is a missed call. Those guys are doing the best job humanly possible.

I know when Jackie Robinson stole home, even with footage from the time, half say safe, half say out.

I know he was safe. Why? Because the umpire said so...

Tampa Bay is headed towards mediocrity again. They have fans that won't support them, not a whole lot of money, and they've been too good over the last few years to garner more top picks that assissted their rise to the top.

They'll be losing their best player in Crawford. A low average, but productive player in Carlos Pena. One of the best closers in the game in Soriano. And most of their bullpen.

They have a great starting staff, no doubt, but the chinks are showing there as well. This was the last chance for Tampa Bay in that division. It was nice seeing somebody give Boston and New York all they could handle for a few years...

Johnny Damon could very well be next years Kenny Lofton or Jermaine Dye...

I want to see Adam Dunn sign with the Yankees.

Towering home runs just look cooler in right field at Yankee Stadium...

Buehrle, Luebke, Moustakas....C'mon!

Ok, it's time to play...

'WHO WAS DRAFTED FIRST?'

We are in the midst of a pay draft. You tell me who was drafted first among the next three couplets.

After four or five guesses, I'll post the real answers.

Adam Lind or Adam Jones?

Jose Tabata or Chris Coghlan?

Shawn Marcum or Brandon Morrow?

Folks that are in the draft, please refrain from 'playing'

All of these players were at least two rounds apart....Good luck!

I would say Lind, Coghlan, Morrow because I'm guessing the point of the exercise is that it's counter-intuitive. Still, after some more analysis, I could see myself preferring Morrow so I struggled on the last one.

Re: The World Series--I can't see how the Rangers were supposed to win when they had both the umpires and their own manager working against them.

And still, nobody is 100%.

If nobody gets it within an hour, I'll post the three.

One hint: Before the draft, it was announced that Adam Lind is only Utility eligible, as others will find out before drafting next year.
