Football or Baseball?

In Fantasy, I cut my teeth on football. After taking my lumps the first year in a local league, I won it three years in a row. No brag, just fact Later, when the internet took over I was hooked.

Since that time, football has changed too much for me to enjoy it in a fantasy sense. For me, it became more so a battle of attrition, rather than a battle of wits.

But, I'm not here to rag on football or start a baseball/football food fight. Rather, I was thinking about some of the comparisons we can make between the two sports, and which are more pleasing personally.

George Carlin came to mind for sure....

Who has a better arm?

Phillip Rivers or Jason Verlander

*************************************

Who has a better arm?

Brett Favre or Mariano Rivera

****************************************

Why don't they like me?

Randy Moss or Milton Bradley

***********************************

Who is the better punter?

Ray Guy or Jim S

***************************************

Who is the better hitter?

Ray Lewis or Albert Pujols

****************************************

What is Better?

Opening kickoff or first pitch

*********************************************

Who is more respected?

Peyton Manning or Derek Jeter

********************************************

The Gatorade bath or the walkoff celebration?

**********************************************

Head to Head or roto?

******************************************

The kicker or the closer?

********************************************

Helmets or caps?

*******************************************

4th and goal or full count, bases loaded?

**********************************************

A football shutout or a baseball shutout?

************************************************

Clock or innings?

***************************

Who is more America?

The Dallas Cowboys or the New York Yankees

***********************************************

Snake or Gekko?

****************************

Sidelines or dugout?

*****************************

Renman or McCarver?

*****************************

John Clayton or Eric Karabell?

*******************************

Cowboys Stadium or Fenway Park?

*********************************

Some of these, I have to admit, I went to the football side.

One thing is for sure, baseball doesn't have a 'football day' like the NFL and college enjoy on Thanksgiving and New Years Day.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everybody.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everybody. No, but I still get greater chills on baseball opening day than week 1 of football.

That said, it really irks me that all 30 MLB teams are not scheduled to play on Memorial Day, the 4th of July and Labor Day, with as many staggered day games as possible on free TV.

[/QUOTE]I agree also. Every team should play on these National Holiday's. In fact, it wasn't all that long ago that doubleheaders were scheduled for holidays.

I love Opening Day.

I hate when hitters swing at the first pitch of the season. Let the ump call a strike on the first pitch and give the fans that have been waiting all winter a chance to let out a big cheer.

But......remember a couple of years ago when the NFL was playing Start Me Up by the Stones before the first kickoff, that was cool.

Still......I prefer baseballs Opening Day

*****************************[/QB]I've been PM'ed twice asking who Renman is.

He is a poster on the NFFC side who is most comfortable using 40 sentences, when two will do.

He also is a master of saying exactly the same thing 20 different ways ... and each time his point gets hazier and hazier. By the time he gets to definition #10 he doesn't even know what he means.

Cowboys Stadium or Fenway??

If the comparison is old vs new, it is without a doubt Fenway...

I've never been to Fenway but I have been to some older stadiums and there is just that something special about them that is hard to put into words at midnight... I've been to Wrigley and Lambeau and Soldier Field and don't ever want to see then replaced.
