strategic approach

All,

While I think passing the hat could work to keep NFBC going, I think long term the NFBC really isn't a stand alone business model. Too few barriers to entry mean that players want higy payout %s etc... plus the costs of customized tech spend, advertising, draft day personel etc... make this a live drafting a low margin business. The internet is better, but I think the true value of something like the NFBC is in the content generation. Clearly Krause got that. I would think that Sporting News for example would be perfect owner or perhsps Yahoo or ESPN

Anyway, fingers crossed everything turns out well for Greg, Tom and the rest of the FB team!!!!

You can cross ESPN off the list. Here was the response I got from them.

"Thank you for contacting us.

I apologize, but ESPN is not a gambling institution and therefore we have no plans at this time to include leagues that reward a cash prize"

ESPN is completely contradicting itself, then why do they have Progressive sponsor the ESPN Sports Streak contest where one winner every month can win $50000 even $100000!!

I think CBS Sportsline or Sporting News makes sense but who knows at this point. Fantasy Football is not gambling, it is a contest that takes some skill and some luck, percentages can be argued.

Well, that reply from ESPN just shows how hypocritical they are.
