Steve Gardner of USA Today just announced that Sirius/XM Satellite Radio will broadcast live the LABR Auctions next weekend in Phoenix. Jeff Erickson of Rotowire.com and I think Kyle Elfrink of Sirius will be doing the analysis. Should be interesting and a lot of fun. I'm digging this.

Sirius loves this live content and we're obviously talking with them about coming to the NFBC drafts as well and doing something similar at one of our locations. That would be way cool, especially if we upped the ante with technology and really gave them some cool data as it happens. Stay tuned.

Anyway, I'm the last original member of LABR, which was formed in 1994 by USA Today Baseball Weekly's John Hunt. I also have never won a LABR League title, finishing second in the AL that inaugural year, second a few year ago with John Zaleski in the AL again and second last year with Shawn Childs in the NL. Don't congratulate us for that finish because we also finished 11th in the AL!! :D

Anyway, Shawn and I will be in Phoenix next Friday through Monday for these auctions. Give us advice folks so that we can win the doubleheader!!! :D Wouldn't that be cool.

Here's the lineup card for LABR, which has the AL on Saturday night at 5 pm PT and the NL Auction on Sunday at 5 pm PT. Tune in.

I would watch out, Greg. Shawn is privately running a pool on how many $30+ bids it would take before the EMT's have to use a defibrillator on you!

It's too bad this isn't on TV, so you can all see Shawn's face when Greg makes a bid Shawn disagrees with. I remember last year a couple times reading Shawn's lips mouth "WTF???"

Okay, I have my medication packed for the trip to Phoenix on Friday and I'm ready for anything Shawn can throw at his teammate. He's driving this train and hopefully it's not the train wreck our AL team was last year!! :D Let's hope both of our LABR teams look more like last year's second place NL team, which almost killed me on Draft Day as Shawn grabbed more injury-riddled players than my heart could handle.

It should be fun, to say the least. Who has some advice for us? ;) I want to hear it. Cheer us on all. We're representing all of the NFBC and hopefully we can finally bring a title home.
