Topps Provides 2011 Cards For NFBC Badges

Today I took the badges down to the printer to get laminated, so there's no heading back now!!
We've gotta follow through with this crazy idea and host some drafts!!
I'm happy to report that once again Topps is providing the baseball cards for the badges. I've known those folks at Topps for 20+ years and they're all great guys. Thanks to Clay Luraschi for helping me get this done this year.
Just a heads up: We are trying to streamline this process and make it easier for us at the live drafts by sending an Excel document of the early signups to the printer and randomly assign names to the cards. I know some owners like special players on their badges, but it's been impossible to make everyone happy no matter how hard we try with these cards!! So now we're leaving it up to the random process and letting the computer assign the Topps card to your name!! No complaining to me!!
Anyway, enjoy the badges. We've always liked to provide this nice little collectible so that you can remember your experience at the live events. Every owner and co-manager will have a badge waiting for them and those who have signed up already should have their name and city already on the badge. Those who sign up after tomorrow will likely need to write their names on the badges.
One other touch I'd like to see: We can't assign your Message Board name to the badge because we don't even know everyone's MB name. But we'll have a Black Sharpie waiting for folks at the registration tables and feel free to add that to your badges. Some folks probably know you better by your MB board name than your real name. We'll let you add that when you pick up your badge.
Enjoy all. The badges are a mix of stars, scrubs, retired players and even injured players (hey, Stephen Strasburg looks good on a badge). It's the luck of the draw who you get, but no matter who it is the badge will be your collectible. Enjoy.
