Let's Fill Up All Of The Auction Leagues!!
Posted: Thu Mar 03, 2011 7:41 am
Okay, it's now time to focus on some of our side live events and we'll start with the NFBC Auction Championship. This is the second year for this format where we give a $15,000 overall grand prize to the top team among all 135 entrants. You can win a league prize and a $15,000 overall prize, which means that each day you get to watch your league standings and your overall standings. And this year with STATS' Live Standings feature, it's going to be a blast.
Last year Jeff Dobies won the overall grand prize on the last day of the season, the last inning of the season, the last out of the season. He beat Richard Gordon and Charles Levitz basically by one run or one hit to win the grand prize by a half-point. YES, A HALF POINT!!!
This is what happens in the Auction Championship where everyone has the same amount of money to bid for the players they want. The leagues are tough and close. The overall competition is tough and close. And the best of the best always wins.
Now, let's get busy. We budgeted for 135 teams -- nine full leagues -- and we are on pace for nine full leagues. But we need help in each city. We need:
4 more teams in Atlantic City on Friday, March 25th
7 more teams in Las Vegas on Friday, March 25th at 9 am
7 more teams in Las Vegas on Friday, March 25th at 4 pm
4 more teams in New York on Sunday, March 27th at 1 pm
That's it. Then we're full.
We also need TWO MORE TEAMS for the $1300 NL-only Auction League in Las Vegas on Friday, March 25th at 9 am and THREE MORE TEAMS for the $1300 AL Auction League at 4 pm that day. C'mon Vegas guys, let's pick it up. Help me fill these. Oh, and THREE MORE TEAMS for the Sunday, March 27th NFBC Ultimate Auction League. We're close, but we need a good push here.
Here's the NFBC Auction Championship signup list. Jump in. Help us out and win $15,000+:
