I signed up for the March 8th online draft at 6pm central. I know I got an email earlier that you were having a hard time filling the league but I now see no openings until the 10th. I don't appear to be placed in the league yet and not sure when we will get our draft positions if indeed the league did make.

Jon Stadtmueller Hey Jon, I was going to contact you again since I never heard back from you after our initial emails. Your league on the 8th is not going to fill up and you said initially you did not want to switch to the 9 pm one that night. Let me know what date and time work for you and I'll get you into that league. No problem there. Thanks .

Wow, these are starting to take off. We have prize money based on 540 teams, so we still have a ways to go, but don't delay if you want to partake in the shot for the $50,000 grand prize. We are now over 300 teams and adding more than 15 per day. Keep 'em coming folks and grab that three-pack for $1,000 deal while it's still there. The more the merrier I always say!! :D

I love this price point and the shot at a $50,000 grand prize for $350.

And the Live Double Play whether live at each location or Online is THE BEST BARGAIN at $525. Check out that prize pool because I swear folks aren't seeing the value in that contest. For $525 you can win $72,000. And we're likely going to fall short of our goal of 240 teams there, so the odds of winning are much improved. I wish we'd sell all 240 spots, but it's not going to happen at this pace. Jump in if you want to win a BIG prize for a fair entry fee.

Thanks all. Let's fill these up and kick off this historic season with STATS. Awesome job everyone.

We now have over 325 teams signed up for the NFBC Online Championship with a goal of 540 teams. We have a $75,000 cash bonus for anyone who wins the overall title in both the Main Event and the Online Championship, something we now call THE LINDY after Lindy Hinkelman did just that in 2009. C'mon, if you're in the Main Event you should add a Double Play team to win even more money with a perfect season. These 12-team online leagues are a lot of fun and there's an additional $50,000 grand prize for the top team. Check out the draft dates because we're getting low on them. Thanks all.

Wow, now this is SWEEEEEEEEEETT!!! Let's keep it going.

Okay, there is only one more date open for the Double Play Online at $350 before the live drafts begin. We have SIX OPENINGS for Thursday, March 24th at 7 pm ET. I will post a separate thread for that one, but then we're done until Sunday, March 27th. We will host online drafts on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and even Thursday morning for those who still want to get into this competition for the $50,000 grand prize, but don't delay because we are only going up to 540 spots. We now have less than 135 left.

Grab 'em while they're hot!!! :D Thanks all.

552 Signups For Online Double Play

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Mar 29, 2011 9:18 am

We now have 42 full leagues for the Double Play Online with a chance for one or two more if demand continues like it has been. It's amazing how many leagues we sold in the last three weeks and if we had this weekend to draft like we did in previous years I know we'd set a new record for this event. But Bud Selig wants Opening Day on Thursday this year instead of Sunday, so we lose some of that extra drafting time we had before.

Still, 504 teams comprising 42 leagues is one heckuva season. I'M SO PROUD OF EVERYTHING WE'VE DONE THIS YEAR!!! Great job everyone.

We have left two time slots open for anyone who still needs a fix. They include Wednesday, March 30th at 1 pm and Wednesday, March 30th at 7 pm. I don't know if we can fill them, but they're on the Registration page nonetheless. Whether we finish at 504, 516 or 528, I'm very happy with the way this season has gone. Great job all.

Thanks and good luck everyone.

Here is what we have left tomorrow:

1 pm EST - 6 spots left

7 pm EST - 9 spots left

We'll keep registration open as long as we can. The signups have been pouring in today so let's see if we can finish strong and close out these final spots.

Are these numbers over your projections? If so, are the overall/league prizes going to change?

The prizes are based on 540 teams and no we won't change the prizes even though we fell short of our expectations. The prizes are guaranteed as promised. If we had gone over 540, yes we would have expanded the overall prize pool.

I based our prizes on last year's 540 teams before Major League Baseball announced their schedule. When they decided to move Opening Day from Sunday night to Thursday afternoon I knew it would be tough to change our prize structure, but I had already started taking signups. Last year we ran 15 Online Double Play leagues from Thursday through Sunday and I knew we were losing those opportunities. But I left it as is and gave it our best shot. We had an amazing finish here and we'll still be fine even if we fall a little short.

Good job all. Now go win a title and the overall prize.

The full 1 pm ET Online Double Play raised our number of teams to 516 tonight. We are three spots away from filling up the 7 pm ET Online Double Play tomorrow, which would bring us to 528 and 44 full leagues. SIMPLY AMAZING ALL!!!

Should we add one more?? Wow. Anyone for one more try at the 9 am ET Thursday league on Opening Day? Just say the word and we'll open that signup page one last time. Thanks all.
