Guys, just read that the Sahara hotel in Las Vegas is closing and will be razed on May 15th. Bring your cameras if you are going to Vegas, this may be the last time for you to see it!

Are you kidding me???? NOOOOOOO. I'm a cheapo who still loves to take the Tram down there and play $1 blackjack on off nights and listen to the locals bitch about life. It's a tradition for me and Dennis to do that at least once. I can't believe what is happening to that end of town. What the hell do they need to raze it for? There's already a lot of empty lots on that end of the Strip.
Man, I sure miss the Stardust and this is the last of the last cheapo spots. Crazy.
I sure miss the Stardust sportsbook. That was a classic.

Me too Greg! I know, the monorail stops right at Sahara, it's perfect. Wonder if they will keep the station?
Not sure if Leroy's is still there but it was a nice little quaint sportsbook. Now I go to the Hilton, will you guys be down there this Thursday in the theatre for March Madness?
Well, we get one last time to check out the Sahara this week., I'm hoping to keep a $1 or $5 chip as a souvenir if I win there.

Never stayed there, but liked the vibe, cheap limits. Like the new Vegas too, but love the old just the same. Man, haven't been to Vegas since Spring of '10. Going thru withdrawal.

Staying at the Sahara during this year's NFBC, Weekend 2. Hope the customer service doesn't go downhill in the last few weeks of the Sahara's existence

Hard to explain the feel of the old style Vegas hotels. Cheap, seedy to a point, but unless you've walked through the area you can't understand the real-life charm of Vegas from a forgotten time.
Stardust will always be special. Loved that Sportsbook. Will always mean early NFBC/NFFC ( sorry Rio ) and all the freebies/contests centered around March Madness
