180+ Now For Live Double Play; Less Than 60 Spots Left

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Mar 14, 2011 2:52 am

Okay, it's time to create a special thread for this one and get the word out that we have spots to fill and money to hand out!! :D I want to fill all 240 spots for the Live Double Play in the worst way because I think you folks don't realize how good of a payout this contest is. The Online Double Play is a great deal at $350 per team and a shot at the $50,000 grand prize, but the Live Double Play is an even better deal at $525, a $2,000 league prize and a shot at $70,000 in grand prizes. Your team results can earn you money three ways: In the league, in the Live Double Play overall standings and in the Online Double Play overall standings.

I've broken out the signup list here to let folks know what is left. You can do the Live Double Play from the comforts of your homes and you can do this after the live events, too. C'mon, let's fill up all of those spots and the Live Double Plays in each city and get this competition rolling. LET'S DO IT!!!

Here is the current list, broken down by city. Please take a look and if you have some spare time in Las Vegas, New York or Chicago on that second weekend, think about adding one of these drafts to your weekend of fun. You'll love it. The 12-team format is solid, the competition will be tough and the prizes are among the best payouts we have. Check it out. Thanks all.

180+ Now For Live Double Play; Less Than 60 Spots Left

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Mar 14, 2011 3:04 am

We had two Live Double Play leagues in Chicago last year, but we're struggling to get a second one this year. If anyone has any interest in doing this league, let me know. We could patch in another city if we had more interest in Las Vegas and/or New York at that time. Let me know if you're interested and we'll see if we can get this done. The first 12 owners on this list are guaranteed spots in the first Live DP league, so no problem there. But let's get a second league filled there if we can. Thanks all. Here's the current signup list:

CHICAGO

Saturday, March 26, 6 p.m. CST

1. Gary Cutler, Warren, Michigan

2. Matthew Sterk, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa

3. Dave Van Der Stuyf, Willow Springs, Illinois

Okay, I'm not sure if people realize it or not, but we do have an Online option for this $525 price point. Again, you have two grand prizes to win here and the $20,000 Live Double Play grand prize likely will have fewer participants than we had first anticipated. And remember that if you are in the Main Event and you are in the Double Play and you win both overall titles there is a $75,000 bonus prize at stake. It's called THE LINDY because Lindy Hinkelman of Greencreek, Idaho pulled off that incredible feat in 2009, the first year we offered the bonus.

Here are the open options now for the Live Double Play that you can draft Online. We'll add another league on Wednesday, March 30th at 7 pm ET. Thanks all.

We have ONLY FOUR SPOTS LEFT for that one. Let's fill that up this week and get draft spots to you quickly. Here's the current signup list for that one:

ONLINE

Sunday March 27, 1 p.m. EST

1. Jaime Baird, Cambridge, Ontario

2. Seth Poppel, Seattle, Washington

3. Scott Keikoan, Las Vegas, Nevada

4. George Melbrod, Rancho Santa Fe, California

5. Carl Borgatti, Forest Hills, New York

6. Scott Leahy, Lebanon, Pennsylvania

7. Mel Tardo, Metairie, Louisiana

Remember, if you're in the Main Event this is a great way to have a shot at the $75,000 cash bonus for winning both overall titles. Good luck all.

Greg,
