Fence Sitters Special

Okay, we're heading down the home stretch for registrations and I'm ready to help those fence sitters get off their duffs. I will give either an autographed Pete Rose or Ryne Sandberg 8x10 photo to anyone who signs up this week and I'll even do a $100 drawing for one person among the next five signups. I'll just put those five names in a hat and pick one out and that person will win $100. We had the early bird giveaways and now we have the fence sitter giveaways.

If you know you're going to sign up, but want to wait as long as possible to hold off on the charges going to your credit card, call me at 715-445-4612, ext. 284 and we'll come up with a workable plan, or e-mail me at [email protected]. I'm trying to avoid a rush of last minute signups and this might be one way to make it work. Give me a call and we'll hold your spot and still get you in a full league.

For those of you who have already signed up, don't fret. Your loyalty will be rewarded through our goodie bags as we now have polo shirts, T-shirts, baseball cards, figurines and more waiting for the first 250 managers and co-managers at registration on March 19-20. We aim to please at the NFBC and we're determined to fill up this year's field!!

I think you have done about everything anyone could ask of you to fill the field for us. I certainly want to pass on my appreciation and I am anxiously waiting for league and draft order assignments. The 15th is just around the corner now!

They're not NFBC polo shirts, but you'll like them nonetheless. Lots of other goodies in those giveaway bags that I haven't had time to list yet. Like I said earlier, you guys are a desired group that a lot of smart businesses want to reach. I'm letting them reach you with free product. So enjoy.

Okay, yesterday's blue light special resulted in five NFBC signups, so I'll extend the promotion for another day. Pete Rose or Ryne Sandberg autographed 8x10 photos are available to the next five signups and I'll pick a name out of a hat from those five signups for a $100 prize. I'll announce the last $100 winner in a minute as I'm running late for a meeting. Thanks and keep those late signups coming.

Okay, Craig Neustadt of our Chicago NFBC draft won the $100 Fence Sitter's Special. Craig wins $100 plus an autographed Ryne Sandberg 8x10 photo. Looks like he's going to be lucky this year. Thanks again for the five signups yesterday and let's keep it rolling today.

How do we know that those Chicago folks did not stuff the old ballot box like they are prone to do?

Greg-Great job with the promo stuff; you're right, if we're addicted enough to baseball and competition to plunk down the amount of $ we are on this event, marketing execs should know we are the same people that spend $ on all things sports. You listening Nike, Topps, Upper Deck, SI, and Porsche?(OK went too far with the last one)Jeff

Okay, we have picked our second winner of the Fence Sitter's Special as we had five signups today, six if you count the two entries by John Menna. We threw John's name in the hat twice and he still didn't win!! Sorry John. Staff member Tom Hultman made the selection and he picked Eddie Gillis of Rhode Island, who doubled his pleasure today by signing up for the NFBC draft in New York after originally signing up for the AL Auction League in New York. Congratulations Eddie, you just won $100 from the NFBC.

Each of today's signups will receive an autographed 8x10 photo from Pete Rose or Ryne Sandberg.

I still have a few more photos, so I'll extend this offer for another day. The next five signups will get an autographed photo and the shot at $100 before I leave on Thursday for the LABR Draft in Phoenix. Thanks guys and keep the signups coming as we're getting dangerously close to making me very, very happy.

Okay, I apologize for the delay on today's winner, but it's been hectic indeed. All six of our signups today will receive a Pete Rose or Ryne Sandberg autographed photo in the mail, courtesy of Krause Publications. And Rocky Landsverk, who will run the New York draft for us, just picked our $100 winner for today. It's Charles Cart, who will be competing in the AL Auction League in New York with his son. Charles is in Portland right now, but he will be happy to learn that he's saving $100 on his application. Congratulations Charles and thanks everyone for making this a fun week.

I'm off to Phoenix tomorrow for the LABR draft, but will be in contact via e-mail and on our web site. Let's keep the signups coming and I'll find a way to get a gift out to our next couple of signups in the mail. I think I have 5-10 Rose photos left. Thanks guys. Oh, and don't worry, they are authentic (someone asked me that). He signed them for KP because he's a spokesman in an area of our sports collectibles division.
