Here's mine... 12th pick - CHI LEAGUE 4 -

My offense is yuckky on paper, but has some nice potential in the way of Mauer/Giambi/Sosa/Berkman/Thomas/C.Monroe.. (maybe 1 or 3 too many gambles.. but thats my style)

if Prior can give me 25 quality starters, my pitching should be among the top 3.

1B: Jason Giambi

2B: Alfonso Soriano

SS: Omar Vizquel

3B: Russ Branyan

2B/MI: Chase Utley

OF: Sammy Sosa

OF: Vernon Wells

OF: Lance Berkman

OF: Ken Griffey Jr.

OF: Brady Clark

DH: Frank Thomas

P: Pedro Martinez

P: Roy Oswalt

P: Mark Prior

P: Fransisco Cordero

P: BJ Ryan

P: Jeremy Affledt

P: Brad Penny

P: Mike Gonzalez

P: JJ Putz

B: Craig Monroe

B: Brandon Lyon

B: Juan Gonzalez

B: Ken Harvey

B: Ryan Howard

I know im probably not nearly as sharp as you but my staff is rock solid and I didnt need to be drinking heavily to draft guys like David Wright and Jose Reyes and the third and fourth round. Those guys have HUGE upside for this year. Like I said, im sure sure your team is much better. You must be one of those "name" guys that doesnt pay attention to lesser known guys like Morneau, Wright, Reyes, Reed, etc.

Don't pay any attention to Baltic. He had a bad draft and now he's on here trying to take it out on everyone else.

He's also extremely hypocritical since he wrote all over another thread that it doesn't matter how prepared you are or who you have because it's all luck, while here he is making fun of you for how you drafted.
Chance favors the prepared mind.

Bro,how can u defend a team that is starting Toby Hall and Travis Lee, and his Closers are Wick and Affeldt(he has no CHANCE to win his league or the 100,000)............And i had a great draft , i was there to have fun and drink beer(i did one of the two).......and i dont recall ever saying its all luck? could u please direct me to that post

Did you guys happen to notice the guy who started this thread was "Mankind" asking to rate his team.

We are on the second page of posts and the poor guy has had no feedback.

So, for Mankind, here you go:

Hard to argue with your top 4 out of the #1 hole. If your young OF's (Chavez and DeJesus) come through, you got a complement of speed. (albeit, a bit early for those two) However, by waiting on pitching, you have a bunch of mid-level starters and iffy RP. So I think you may struggle in all 5 pitching stats.

Good luck
Ken

k.d Gray,

Thanks for the feedback, I believe my pitching will be very strong with those pitchers drafted. I agree with you 100% on my closers, make that closer (Mesa). Look at last years winner closer's and it didn't seem to hurt his team. There is a long season ahead with lots of changes to come. Good luck with your team. SEABASS NATION

NY League #5 Wonderful 13th pick

1b Casey

2b Soriano {1}

SS Young {3}

3b Blake

C Inge

C Molina

CI Phelps/Branyan

MI Everett

OF Cabrera {2}

OF Pods {4}

OF Burrell

OF Ibanez

OF Dye

DH Griffey

P Beckett

P Burnett

P Halladay

P Webb

P Lowry

P Loaiza

P Capuano

P Ishii

RP Cordero

RP Wickman

RP MacDougal

RP Riske

RP Worrell

Decent balance weak at Closer spot

Exceeded Median except saves by 10-12% Median #s for last years 192 teams are as follows

Wins 90

Saves 70

Ks 1105

Whip 1.333

ERA 4.19

Runs 1103

RBIs 1038

Hrs 271

Sbs 127

Avg .2715

Sometimes its better to try to project injuries instead of Stats since injuries will decide who wins League or not In my projections I did not use Griffeys projections Would be happy with 450 abs 26 Hrs 70 runs 78 rbis

By the way Man totally agree with you about closers Last years winner had one I think maybe none If you get 2 and sometimes it does not matter which 2 based on injuries Get backups Last year I had Nathan Hoffman and stopped at those 2 but drafted Lidge and Worrell and ended up in upper echelon overall in category

NY League #2, Pick #1

C Closser

C Phillips

1B Overbay (#12)

3B ARod (#1)

CI E. Chavez (#2)

2B Spivey/Cantu

SS Greene (#16)

MI Vizquel

OF Huff (#3)

OF Wells (#7)

OF Rowand (#8)

OF Ford

OF Nixon

UT Ibanez

SP Halladay (#4)

SP Bonderman (#9)

SP Escobar (#11)

SP Thomson (#13)

SP Benson (#14)

SP Weaver (#15)

SP Byrd

SP Robertson

RP Dotel (#5)

RP Mota (#7)

Bench

Huston Street

Brandon Lyon

Bob Howry

Craqig Counsell

Victor Diaz

Conservative Estimates have me in the high top 1/3 of all categories except SB and Saves - which should be 7-9 points per category.

Major Risks: Closser being sent down and Nixon getting hurt. Not a perfrect draft, but nonetheless I am pretty happy.

The only disappointments were Vazquez going in the 7th, Crisp 9th, and C. Everett and Ensberg going as early as the 15th or 16th.

Here is another draft that looked good while I was doing it but has at least one difficult to fill hole...Speed. Closer is weak as well. Need health and waivers to make a charge. I gave myself a B...

1B Casey (too early 4th pick)

3B Rolen (1st pick)

CM Green, S. (probably too early but gut feel says monster year)

2B Vidro

SS Renteria (2nd pick, number 17 player taken)

MI Lugo

OF Matsui (gift in the fifth round)

OF Millar

OF Ibanez

OF Stewart

OF Cruz, Jr.

C Posada

C Molina, Yadier

UT Vizquel (desparate for anyone who can steal)

R Payton

R Sizemore

R Alfonzo

R Belliard

SP Escobar

SP Millwood

SP Eaton

SP Pineiro (had him last year...you'ld think I would learn)

SP Lowe

SP Capuano

SP Bush

CL Dotel (3rd pick in middle of closer run)

CL Guardado

R Johnson, Jason

R Elarton

R Speier

No speed, questionable closer, and maybe middle of the pack in K's. Gonna be tough, but, hey, it could happen! :D
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Was your strategy to take every guy named Ryan? I think the Pedro plan might have worked better. ;)
