Pitchers Not Officially On The DL

Just a note to everyone who is calling or emailing about Randy Wells: To replace any pitcher from your starting lineup on Friday he has to officially be on the DL. While I know it's been reported for days that Wells was going on the DL, our rules state that he has to officially be on the DL according to MLB before that DL designation goes next to his name. For whatever reason, Wells isn't listed on the MLB DL list and I don't see him on MLB.com either.
Blame the Cubs or the league for this, but as of our 7 am Friday deadline he wasn't officially on the DL. This is going to happen throughout the year and it's frustrating, but STATS gets this information directly from MLB and when they post players as being on the DL we'll post it as well. Unfortunately in this case, the player didn't meet our DL deadline and all folks with Wells in their starting lineup at the beginning of the week will have to keep him in there throughout the week.
Good luck everyone and sorry about the early season injuries.
