Six pitchers have tried a pickoff move with a 3-0 count on the batter....
These same six pitchers have aluminum foil over their windows at home to thwart Martians.
The big bats in the Nationals lineup, Jayson Werth and Ryan Zimmerman have had 100 first pitches thrown to them, they've swung at five....
In the meantime, Rick Ankiel has swung at over 40% of first pitches.
Only four current Yankees have a batting average under .300 vs. John Lackey....
Here's hoping that his son pitches against my grandson's little league team, the Yankees.
Ok, alright there is more, and I'll have those later.
I just read our e-mailed newsletter. If Zola were here, I'd kiss him....and with a deep breath and a 'Phew!' , Todd wipes his brow.
A must read about targets.
Just to add one more thing to Todd's thoughts. After the draft, we are shown how several teams will meet their targets. Never, ever at the end of a season do you see a roster and how it met it's targets. The players have changed. The reason is clear. We are fighting a war of attrition. Unfathomable players, at least, to us during the draft, replace players that were once held in high esteem.
Kudo's on a great article, Todd.

Good piece by Zola on target drafting.
I like to draft alphabetically. Makes it easy to know who to take.
1- A lex Rodriguez
2- Jose B autista
3- C liff Lee
4- D an Uggla
etc...
If I was strict and only went by last names, my first pick would have to be Elvis Andrus. So I am open to some flexibility in my methodology.
