I was driving around listening to sportsradio today and heard a caller say something that almost made me drive off the road. My first thought was, why don't they screen their callers a little better because there is no way that is true. So I did some research and turns out it was a true statement.



Player A- a highly touted First Round draft choice a couple years ago who got off to a hot start very early this year and has now cooled off. 24 years old.

Owned in 100% of all NFBC leagues



Player B- a first round draft choice more than a couple years ago who has never had the career of a first rounder but is still only 25 years old.

Owned in 0% of all NFBC leagues



Career numbers



Player A 887AB's .258/.328/.741



Player B 869 AB's .258/.333/.710



I don't know what it means at this point in their careers. One is starting the other is basically the 25th man on his roster.



So have at it...without the use of your computer if you would, and tell me who these two players are.

Player A is Gordon Beckham.



Player B is Blake DeWitt.



I had to dig to figure out DeWitt.



Obviously Beckham was more highly rated than DeWitt when he was drafted and has much more power than DeWitt brings to the table.

We used to call this the who's up, who's down game. Players with comparable statistics, but both players headed in different directions.

Player A is owned in 100% of NFBC with a rosy future.

He is 24. In over 1200 ab's before this year, he had 68 home runs and a .257 batting average.



Player B is owned in 0% of NFBC leagues and is literally the 25th player on his team, since he was the last one added.

He is 25. In over 800 ab's before this year, he had 39 home runs and batted .248
