Did you learn that Santos doesn't have the ability to close (from those 2 outs)? Or that the job is Santos'? Or that Thorton's having issues? The job should be Thorton's or Sale's? Konerko can still hit? Or something else? What were you glad about? How many White Sox and Yanks games have you watched this year to be able to put tonight's performances into context?

I am sure glad you specified you tuned in for research purposes; we know you let us all know you don't watch baseball. How many times a week do you tune in for the last 2 innings of a game for "research"? Here is one of my favorite quotes I use in the field I work and it also applies to you. "Your actions speak so loud I can't hear a word your saying." Oh wait, I have that quote listed here somewhere......

I have a question; how did you know when to tune in to see the last 2 innings or even know that Santos came in the 8th for a 4 out save opportunity? You can be honest, were you watching the box scores on the computer? That is even more exciting than watching a ping=pong match, or dare I say it, a baseball game on TV. Rocket: if watching a baseball game is equivalent to watching a ping-pong match, why are you a baseball fan? Personally, you are the pretender and I don't mean in terms of fantasy skill because I know nothing about you, except you had to support mark/s silly post.

I usually like a lot of your posts, but this was uninformed and nasty and I didn't take you to be that way in NY.

What I learned is that the only way someone other than Santos gets a save is if there are 3 LHB coming up in the inning. And if that happens, it's probably Sale and not Thortnon.

[/QUOTE]To be fair Jim - the 4 out save was on Monday.

Thorton AND Santos were up and throwing as Floyd came back out to start the 9th. Jeter gets a swinging bunt single and Thorton came out to face lefty Granderson and flip Teixeira over to the right side. After walking Tex - Ozzie came right out and brought in Santos. BOTH Arod and Cano hit Santos hard and Lillibridge saved his bacon.

Comedy isn't comedy if it has to be explained. (hard enough to be funny, now I gotta explain everything for the Jim Christies of the world) Most around here know that I think Gek is full of it and that I LOVE baseball. I'm watching the Reds-Brewers right now.

We're on the same team my friend. I'd be watching baseball (esp Phillies) whether or not Fantasy Baseball existed or not. I suspect you feel the same way, which is why a guy like Mark (who acts as if this is a job) comes off like d-bag. That's just his shtick. If I've learned anything in reading nfbc boards is don't believe ANYTHING that guy has to say.

That's just his shtick.. no shtick. take away high stakes fantasy baseball, and i wouldn't have any interest in regular baseball. i played fantasy nascar and fantasy golf back in the day and was successful. however when the leagues dried up, i lost all interest in both sports.

 I wonder how a reasonable person following along w/ this thread would think that.

I think it's actually amazing that Mark's had the success he's had considering his own remarks about baseball. I'd stand no chance in golf, and I wouldn't even try. Imagine spending hours & hours doing something you got no real interest in. In my case I would NEVER spend a minute reading up about golfers and they're stats. I ascribe to the George Carlin school of thought when it comes to golf.

W/ all that said I'm just being honest when I say I'd pull for a baseball fan over a guy just trying to win $. If that's negative go get that towel full of....what was it you said :D and wipe YOUR CRYING EYES.

*I had to edit this for 2 reasons. First I should no better. I'm not dealing w/ a reasonable person.

Second, if it wasn't for the nasty insult I'd honestly thought you were messin' w/ me Johnny. Because coming from YOU that is LAUGHABLE . I've had my disagreements w/ folks on these boards, but I've always been a huge supporter of NFBC esp Greg, Tom, & Geoff. I've worked as a facilitator. When I participate at Mock Draft Central I always let folks know what a great game (and HONEST) that Greg runs, I'm a freakin' homer for the NFBC, it's ridiculous. If one was to go back and read some of the things you've posted I wonder who'd be considered negative?

I wonder whom Ron Shandler would consider the negative person

rockitsauce, Never said anything about wiping your eyes. I think your confusing me with someone else on that one. As far as what Ron Shandler thinks, most people here don't care. He doesn't care about you. Why should you value his judgement? As far as supporting the NFBC I was there til this year. It's still more than you've been there. But you know something? This isn't real! This is a board for fantasy

baseball. So don't get your panties tied up in a bundle. Peace to ya! :D

Sale can't close out a 6-0 game tonight. Maybe he'll get a rotation slot of Peavy never gets healthy, because he's not closing
