Just wondering what the general consensus for the Stats Pass subscription offer was. I found the site to be useful but the price($500) for a subscription for the rest of the year seems a little steep to me.Basically it works out to $100/month for a premium stats service. If you win the $100k it's worth it but since only one of us gets that I don't know if I can justify the price.Maybe some of those who have cashed in big recently might jump in but I wonder how the rest of the players feel about this. Has anybody else found this site helpful and if so are you willing to pay the $500 price for a subscription? Glad to read any feedback on this matter.

"Don't look back, something might be gaining on you"---- Satchel Paige They should be offering it for $20-30 a season to fantasy players, it would generate far more revenue than at a $500 price tag ... unfortunately, it sounds like they are boxed in from a pricing standpoint by selling it to the professional trade for $500/yr.

A quick Biz plan on this subject. My guess is they wont get more than 30-50 NFBC players to sign up for this at 500.00 The fact theya re offering this to NFBC players tells me thye have no contractual restrictions that would allow them to offer/sell the serivce to anyone. i did some quick numbers on potential revenue for them using some base projections on the three Fantasy BB serivces. The reason i have the pct of Subs for NFBC is because they are more serious in terms of playing for serious money. I would be intererested in hearing from anyone who might have more accurate numbers of the amount of players in the variious fantasy services like Yahoo, CBS, ESPN. The info is bought by all of the professional sports teams and most player agents. I'm assuming a large number of pro sports beat writers pay for the info as well considering how valuable it is. I used this type of data extensively when I was covering the Packers in the 90s and it was invaluable to my reporting.
As Greg said the other day, we realize the price point may not fit with everyone here and that's fine. But we wanted to offer the data for folks to check out. And if people wish to purchase it at the reduced rate they now have that option. If not, that's cool too.

Tom- i fully understand. all i was attempting to point out is that Stats could choose to market it. it is possible as you state that they get signifcant revenue from the PRO's, agents etc... I'm sure they have thier reasons to not sell it to literally millions of fantasy and sports fans.

What about a skelton version? Maybe give us the batter vs. pitcher stats and a couple other stats that people use and offer it for something reasonable $39.99/yr. It is loaded with info that even us NFBC players won't use. But I am sure that we could come up with a list of stats that would be helpful.. Basically order some things a la carte. Just an idea...

I don't want to knock STATS' site. In fact, if I were a manager of a REAL team, and I didn't have anything else I would need some of this stuff. But when you're trying to decide whether to play a guy for a whole weekend and you see that a guy is 0-for-9 against one of the pitchers so you don't play him...well, at that point the site is probably only hurting your team management. It is notably lacking in *large samples* of stats no one else has.
