Auction Leagues

How come everyone seems to be slow in signing up for these? I think we're going to make an NL league in Vegas and an AL league in NYC, but we're struggling to fill up an AL league in Vegas.

Is it the travel times and getting in on Friday to do it or just 'too much' money for fantasy games in one weekend?

Just curious - I was under the impression that many many people favored the auction format because it was so inherently 'fair.'

It's not fear is it?

For me, it was a matter of finances... I had to decide on doing either something I was familiar with or doing something new. However, I do plan on watching the Las Vegas Auction Drafts to learn a little more. After doing some reading on auction leagues, I think I would prefer to do it that way. It does seem more fair and definitely a better simulation of how the game really works. Also, I would like to get involved in an auction league that had keepers. So next year, guys, I plan on using all of the money I win from this to get me into both leagues. I just thought I would warn everyone ahead of time

For me,Auction Leagues are the truth and the way. Drafts are for wannabe's. Here I was worried about getting into an Auction League and they haven't even filled a single league at any site.

I'll be in 'Vegas for the draft and if the American Auction League doesn't fill I'll be more than disappointed, I'll be looking for a refund. 5 auction spots in 'Vegas taken by Leader Board types??? Are there any other REAL fantasy plyers out there or are you all "Draftees." Come  on Step and Play!!! How about some side action???

For me it was the money. I had to beg the wife to let me play. 100,000 vs a 5,000 payout you tell me. I've never done an auction. The odds of me beating some of the players doing the action were a billion to 1. Not good odds.
