Anyone still a believer or has he become a lost cause?

Hurt arm - looks like shoulder... I Saw a side by side of him last yr vs this yr a few days ago and he was pulling across his body and pushing the ball more... It would explain his lack of control... I guess he's trying to ptich through it, but would not be surprised if they shut him down for a month.

if it's mechanical, he could fix it. if he's hurt, that's another story

I have Jimenez in a league which doesn't have a bench for pitchers (it's my first year in the league and I'm not sure why that rule is in place) so I have to stick with him or drop him. I'll hold until the break and re-assess then.

He pitches tonight at L.A. against the Dodgers at 9:10 CST. I'll probably be drinking by 9:30.
Yup. You called this one, brother!

"Ubaldo Jimenez finally picked up his first victory by tossing a shutout against the Dodgers on Wednesday. Jimenez did it all himself tonight after getting burned a few times last month. He allowed just four hits, he walked none and he struck out seven in his third career shutout. This makes four good starts in the last six for him. His velocity is still down some from last year, but he could well be a top-30 starter the rest of the way. "
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
I benched him in 4 leagues. I'm just glad that MAYBE he has fixed his issues.

Not only did I bench him but I picked up Acves to start in his place. Who promptly was shelled by the White Sox. Needless to say Ubaldo's off the Christmas Card list.
